Re: Keep Diamond or go to Pro?
towards the end of the battery, the discharge rate was higher than the charge rate with bluetooth enabled, but i noticed that it would get so hot that it wouldn't charge at all while using bluetooth (or data/wifi for that matter), and the battery would die that much quicker. but the discharge rate with actually using the phone is apparently higher than the charge rate. it just happens to die that much quicker when the thing can't charge at all. i haven't had this problem with the pro yet, but i constantly had it with the diamond. when i'm talking to numerous people, i put my phone on the charger. i expect it to charge while i talk. its a cellphone, so i shouldn't be confined to a wire, so i use the bluetooth. and it dies? that's a crap design if you ask me. it should be able to charge while using bluetooth. i understand if you're using bluetooth + wifi + talking, but just bluetooth? never had that problem with a phone before. i actually never thought that problem could even exist unitl i had a diamond.

My plan is a shared plan with 'all data' included... pic, text, internet, even gps.... do you know if that covers the phone as modem (not that I care... i'm not a large corp.) or is that crap in the fine print... I don't get the fact that they blocked, and straight out denied the gps capabilities on earlier models from HTC (which they just told HTC to block).... yet they leave the use phone as modem option right there for anyone to use.... its a pocket PC, how do they expect someone to think they are doin somethin against their contract when the contract says "Unlimited data plan" .... i'm sure you don't know, but yeah... if they didn't want people doing it, they could prevent it (until someone hacked it)... |

they probably haven't blocked it because they haven't found a way yet. its difficult to block on a wm phone because of the way it connects in the first place. its fairly primitive. a wm phone is basically a pda with a cellular network connection. so since it already has that network connection, its harder for them to block it. they can block the gps because that's related to the hardware itself. |

it does sound like a crap design... but I had that problem at first with my 6700, and it turned out to be the charger?? Even with the phone plugged in, while I was talking on it, it would discharge faster than it would charge. Later, I bought one of those 'fast/rapid' chargers... simply cause mine broke, not that I thought it actually made a difference.... but somehow it did? I noticed the pro showed a slightly lower battery life than the diamond, and I just attributed it to the sliding keyboard.... when I do heavy texting on my 6800 and the orientation is constantly changing, it drained the battery MUCH faster than usual.... I was fairly happy with my 6800, minus the more frequent freezes lately..... so hopefully with a little more memory I'll be able to get just what I need out of this one! Random question..... do you know where to find the beer pong game that uses the motion detection to toss the ball? |

I get what you say about them blockin the gps....but it was still hacked. I'd think they could do something to keep the 'typical' aka 'ignorant' user from using the phone as modem funtion without going through a 'sprint' program that signs them up... like their tv and radio and whatever else bs.... but I get what you mean, its built in to the PPC.... and the fact that it has cellular access isn't put their by sprint, they are just the ones that activate it. they could request HTC to make it so the phone is not capable of internet sharing??? perhaps... i'm sure it'd be easy to break... but its like, looking at those data plans plus the extra $100 they pay for the card.... I just wanna be like, "hey, give me 20 dollars and i'll show you how you can do that with the phone you just bought instead, same line, no new equipment" lol |

Re: Keep Diamond or go to Pro?
i know there's a beer app that simulates drinking beer, but beer pong? that'd be badass.
as for the discharge... both my wall usb chargers are 1amp, and the one in my car is 850ma.. i normally charge my phone in the car though, but i had the bluetooth problem with the wall chargers, one of which was the one that htc packaged with the diamond. my pro doesn't seem to get hot enough to not charge, so it can maintain its own battery under heavy usage and charging, but the diamond would just refuse to charge if used long enough to get hot enough to not charge. that was the main problem with it. |

but I can complain about the fact that I used to be able to do all the special stuff on my PPC just by paying the same 'PCS vision" that let others look at tiny websites, and send pictures =) soon it was just too obvious that sending media, texts, and looking at tiny websites on a tiny screen was in a different catagory than PDA and PPC devices that could actually serve as any computers one and only broadband connection to the net as well as all "pcs vision" services. but yeah... i'm glad their unlimited data plans are reasonable... especially adding lines (as long as those people use the data crap) |

i feel like you are that psychotic rambling on hijacking conversations way off onto random topics...after too much beer pong, a couple too many shotguns, and failed attempts of bong rips ending in the stoner getting pissed you just burned a quarter of his bowl of weed. but, if anyone has an answer to your question about controlling our ppcs from another larger touchscreen, i hope they find this thread and let us know. I know that we can atleast, somehow, send our screens' live image out to another screen (bluetooth???), because there is a video on youtube of htc's cmo showing off his diamond with a huge screen right behind him showing what he is doing. but he was controlling his diamond right from the phone.. |

So I was checking out what was on my phone, and it had the game where you lay the phone flat... I can't think of the name... and move the ball past the holes.... so I figured it they both had games based on movement of the phone, then the touch pro should have a beer pong game!!! i wanna find it |
