no, just dont boil the water. Keep the stove at low and it should be fine (no bubbles or ripples in the liquid, just hot enogh you cant keep your finger in for long)

took me 30 mintes at walmart to find the shid but needless to say im dying 2 backs and a stlyus as we speak....i still have 2 red stylii so im gonna see how it looks with the red accents.. i will post pics from my crappy renegade camera when im finished.....

came out GREAT. used a black tee shirt to buff and get all the extra dye off. about to take pics

finished with mine about an hour or two ago.

guess i had the heat just a little too high b/c my cover is slightly distored.

i'm actually quite please because now it fits much tighter. thanks OP, and to the OP of the origial thread!

Here are mine...I painted the usb jack with some black acrylic paint. I wouldn't suggest doing trying it out unless you are skilled painting with a tiny brush. It turned out pretty nice and it matches the black on the back of the cover.
