I tried a little experiment with electrical tape. For the most part the tape stayed on during the process and it didn't even leave a sticky residue once it was removed. I ended up dying the original cover with orange dye. Once it dried then I freestyle'd with the electrical tape and dyed it one more time in black. It's not the best, but check it out.

that's pretty tight... i wouldnt have expected electrical tape to stay put during the heating process...

Neither did I. The one thing I did different during that process was I didn't just leave it in the pot. I kept the cover in for 2-3mins here and there.

On my way to local Sprint Store(s) to collect more covers...........
