Then I taped it off and used black spray paint. This only lasted about 2 days before rubbing off from me missing the slot for the USB. May try it again with some hand paint that is specifically for plastic.

On a side note, my dye on the cover is rubbing off around the stylus. Is anyone else having this problem?
I'll stick with the red area, seems like alot of problems can accur just to paint it black

Can you post some instructions on how to take the phone apart.

hey guys. I know this has been mentioned before but I used a Sharpie pen and it has not rubbed off for months. The smell was bad for about a week but it goes away. after saturating the back, waiting about 5 minutes or so, I buffed it out and it looks great. the stylus didn't work so well though. I am noticing it is starting to wear down in one area but it has been months since I did it. I will probably just do it again when it becomes noticeable. I bought an industrial grade black sharpie for $1.49 from walmart.

Can you post a picture to see what it looks like and also maybe a picture of the pen you used.

sorry, i can try later. I assure you it looks identical to the DIY method of dyeing it. As long as you buff it with a soft piece of fabric (jewelry cloth) it buffs out to a perfect flat finish. Looks professional. the sharpie I got it from Walmart but it's everywhere. It thicker than a typical sharpie and it say industrial on it. this was discussed early on this thread as well so I think others have had success.

Here is the marker. I have seen this marker at CVS drug stores, the supermarket as well.
