Re: Fragile Screen - Beware!!!!!
I dropped mine from 2 feet in my work minivan. I went to place it on the dash holder and it slid out and hit the hard rubber. Still it was the rubberized floor, but no damage at all.

Re: Fragile Screen - Beware!!!!!
i've dropped mine a few times, and haven't had any problems... still looks as good as new. i was sitting on a table at a bar, and it slipped out of my pocket, hit the concrete bench under me, and then the concrete floor...and i can't find a scratch on it. my gf dropped her tilt coming out of a cab and the screen completely shattered, but she had dropped the thing so many times before that, so its really just the angle of the drop and what part hits.

Re: Fragile Screen - Beware!!!!!
Not at all the same situation, but... still painful to see.
I jammed the phone into my pocket today and my keys were in there. I got one huge scratch and another smaller one. So pissed (at myself for not putting the damn screen protector on!). I'm gonna put the protector on tonight. But... before I do. Any suggestions on how to fix the scratches? You really can't tell when looking at the phone head on, but if I look at it from an angle or there are a lot of colors on the screen, the big scratch looks weird. Kind of like looking through oil and the colors are off. Ugh... Help guys! |

Re: Fragile Screen - Beware!!!!!
i think this thread has made a solitary issue into a sweeping generalization. the screen isnt fragile, not to say the OP didnt have a legit break, but im sure thats 1% of the drops that occur- just had a bad luck of the draw.I dont find the screen or device flimsy or fragile in any way like some older ppc's were.
of course always use a screen protector thats why they include one! if it didnt need one then they wouldnt include it. plastic, even glass, will scratch sometimes its best for a few bucks to protect a $550 device |
