Good to hear many of you have dropped yours without damage. I was really worried about breaking this phone multiple times. It was sitting on my lap when I got out of my car and fell onto the door sill. It was plugged into the car charger so it didn't hit the ground. As some of you said, it must of hit at just the right angle.

As one of you said, the silicon sleeve is "girlie," but really don't want to have something bulky protecting it. Maybe I'll try the case that Juggalo X uses. Jug, does that case increase the bulk much? One of the things I love most about the diamond is how svelte it is.

Finally, right after I broke it I called Sprint and ordered the $7 insurance. I had two days left to add it to my account (you get 30 days after activation). Ten minutes later I called Asurion (the company they use to handle claims) and got a brand new one sent. Cost? $50,00 plus $7 to have it overnight shipped. I'll have it tomorrow. You can no longer go to a sprint store for replacement. It has to go thropugh Asurion.

if you want Sprint to replace it it's $119. if you want asurion to replace it, it's $50

i throw this phone onto my counters, bed and floor all the time. it's looking good still

I dropped mine from 2 feet in my work minivan. I went to place it on the dash holder and it slid out and hit the hard rubber. Still it was the rubberized floor, but no damage at all.

I bet it shattered because, like said above, it fell on a critical spot... It was bad luck, I'd assume.

I don't think any manufacturer would release a device that fragile [dropping from a small height once and breaking] because it costs them further down the road.

it must have been in the perfect spot, i work in a sprint service center and since ive had mine i have beaten the screen with everything from staplers to calculators, not a scratch on my phone. bad luck indeed.

i've dropped mine a few times, and haven't had any problems... still looks as good as new. i was sitting on a table at a bar, and it slipped out of my pocket, hit the concrete bench under me, and then the concrete floor...and i can't find a scratch on it. my gf dropped her tilt coming out of a cab and the screen completely shattered, but she had dropped the thing so many times before that, so its really just the angle of the drop and what part hits.

When did they change this? They replaced my cracked Touch screen 6 weeks ago for free! I say take it into a Sprint store first. You never know, and you have nothing to lose. Worse comes to worse, you go to Asurion.

It changed back in September and situations like this are exactly why it was changed. Asurion is you best bet.
