Re: Anyone have tracking info for their Diamond Shipment?

At least you have one good thing to ease the WAIT. The Force Unleashed Midnight release. You can work your way up to be a Sith Lord all night until you get the knock on the door!

Straight from the UPS Website - Doesnt mention anything about Louisville,KY:

Hurricane Ike
Service Update
Updated Sept. 15, 2008

Hurricane Ike has disrupted service in eastern Texas and southern Louisiana. Mandatory evacuations were ordered in the coastal areas of both states, including Houston, Galveston and Beaumont, Texas, and Lake Charles, Louisiana. Safety is our first priority, and UPS has encouraged our employees in the area to take all necessary precautions.

Eighteen UPS centers in Texas are closed: Katy, Conroe, Angleton, Texas City, Baytown, Port Arthur, Beaumont, Pasadena, League City, Westbury, Aldine, Central, Inwood, Spring, Springbranch, Southwest, Lakeside and Missouri City.

UPS Freight terminals serving Houston, Beaumont and Victoria, Texas, are also closed.

There will be no Pickup, delivery, or On-Call Pickup service in the affected areas. Scheduled hours at UPS Customer Centers and The UPS Stores have also been impacted, and many locations of The UPS Store in Texas and Louisiana remain closed.

If you plan to send a shipment to Texas or Louisiana, UPS recommends contacting your recipient to make sure they are available to accept the package. We will continue to post updates as necessary.
Track Your Shipments

There will be no service in the following ZIP Codes on Monday, September 15:

Texas
77000 - 77099
77200 - 77726

Re: Anyone have tracking info for their Diamond Shipment?

Here's an email I just received from Customer Care in regards to my order. I placed my order online at 1 am on the 14th.

Dear John,

Thank you for contacting Sprint regarding the handset order.

The order for HTC Diamond was placed on September 15, 2008. Once the
order is placed it takes 3-5 days to deliver the handset at your mailing
address and 1-2 days to generate the tracking number.

However, due to power outages and residual impacts from the remnants of
Hurricane Ike, Sprint Nextel's order fulfillment may experience delays
up to 48 hours.

It was a pleasure assisting you and I look forward to more opportunities
to assist you in future. Have a great day!

Sincerely,
Alex G.
Customer Service Specialist

I think it's just the way the system works whereas it is not updated real-time...
Same here, every phone I ordered through telesales was shipped next day even though I was told it would be 3-5 days. And I have been through a lot of phones, with many of them ordered the first day released.

Looking at this address in google maps, does make it look like a warehouse is located there.
It appears to be close to the Ford Assembly Plant & the international airport.

If this is correct, maybe we can find out how badly this area was hit.
I order 2 phones a few weeks ago, a V950 through telesales and a V3m on the web. Both arrived the next day from this location. 10 minutes before delivery, checking the web provide no tracking information. An hour after delivery, it did. So don't expect to get any useful information.

yup...the rep i talked to said she'd have it overnighted and i'd get it by 3pm today. i just got off w/ somebody at the the # it said to call if i had questions regarding shipping. he only offered me a $10 credit, which actually made me more angry. i talked to his manager and she said that there was a shipping delay. i said "i understand there's nothing you can do about the delay, but the rep that sold me the phone obviously knew that i would never receive the phone monday (i ordered at 3:30pmish on sunday), so she basically lied to me to get me to re-sign my contract." she said that it absolutely wasn't right, and gave me a $25 credit. still wasn't happy, so i'll probably call again tomorrow, just as ripped as i am right now. the release was delayed, now the shipping is delayed. absolutely ridiculous.

Bad news ... I live in Louisville KY. That warehouse is only about 5 miles from me. The electric company reported that over 230,000 people are without electric right now. Schools are closed and it's a real mess (and not a drop of rain). Even some of the cellular towers are having problem. I'm digital roaming right now and I've never done that here in town! Even text messages are taking up to an hour to reach my phone when they used to arrive in mere seconds. My Sprint contact can't even order my phone at the moment. It's showing in inventory, but not on the order screen.

It may take up to (ugh!) 14 days to get it fully restored. I can tell you that the larger businesses (such as UPS) are high priority. So I'm hoping that we'll see our phones soon.

Re: Anyone have tracking info for their Diamond Shipment?

The problem isn't with UPS... It's with the warehouse. They are running on limited back up power. When everybody ordered yesterday from online and tele-sales they all got put in a queue to be processed during normal warehouse hours (mon-fri). The power is out so they are having problems processing all the orders. UPS is there to take the orders processed. If you call the 1-866-789-8292 they can tell you if the order was accepted and processed. If processed they will also let you know if it is going out today to UPS. If it is processed, and the UPS handshake happens ETA is sep 16th. Hope this helps, and good luck to all.
