Service Update
Updated Sept. 15, 2008
Hurricane Ike has disrupted service in eastern Texas and southern Louisiana. Mandatory evacuations were ordered in the coastal areas of both states, including Houston, Galveston and Beaumont, Texas, and Lake Charles, Louisiana. Safety is our first priority, and UPS has encouraged our employees in the area to take all necessary precautions.
Eighteen UPS centers in Texas are closed:
Katy, Conroe, Angleton, Texas City, Baytown, Port Arthur, Beaumont, Pasadena, League City, Westbury, Aldine, Central, Inwood, Spring, Springbranch, Southwest, Lakeside and Missouri City.
UPS Freight terminals serving Houston, Beaumont and Victoria, Texas, are also closed.
There will be no Pickup, delivery, or On-Call Pickup service in the affected areas. Scheduled hours at UPS Customer Centers and The UPS Stores have also been impacted, and many locations of The UPS Store in Texas and Louisiana remain closed.
If you plan to send a shipment to Texas or Louisiana, UPS recommends contacting your recipient to make sure they are available to accept the package. We will continue to post updates as necessary.
