Re: Official Telus Diamond Thread

Juggalo_X, my tests with the setings of the GPSone are inconclusive. Its just as sluggish, I timed it this morning and it was 5-6sec off from my current position...

Now I dont know what to do to get it smooth

mine runs smooth some times and 1-2 sec off.

ive been reading trying to find solution. it appears to be the radio rom.

hope we get an update

software tweaking can only go so far 1-2 sec is as good as it gets. people on XDA report the same issues.

i noticed TomTom is WAY better at staying close if not spot on to the correct position vs Google maps.

I know Tomtom is right on the spot, I tried it but it doesnt fit my needs and maps arent cheap! GglMaps is the sh!t when it comes to free GPS software and the satellite view is exactly what I need (viewing buildings help me figure out my position

Thanks for checking and if you ear something new on this please let me know

Google maps is not designed to be a GPS solution. Navagation GPS software have algorithms and compensation for GPS delays. this is why tomtom works so much better then google maps.

One thing i just played with while going down town to get a pack of smokes, i changed the com port speed to 57600 and Tomtom locks instantly and seems to be lag free. google maps goes just nuts tho like this unless tom tom is open too

Care to post a how to? I think Juicy should add this in a ROM IF we can get it to run with Google Maps and other GPS applications seeing how not everybody has TomTom.
