Re: Official Telus Diamond Thread
I have a quick question...I tried GSens but I could not make it work for anything else except for the programs and Opera. Anyone here installed it and what is your take on it?

Re: Official Telus Diamond Thread
Question re TomTom 7 and GPS. My GPS works fine in Google Maps and Live Search (although a little slow to connect), but I keep getting "GPS not found" in TomTom 7. I assume it is supposed to be set to internal GPS. Any other suggestions what I might be missing?
Thanks |

Re: Official Telus Diamond Thread
Got my Diamond a week ago.
Didn't eve bother with the included Telus crapware. Put on the hacks and my TomTom6, and it worked. It *does* take a while 1-2min for the GPS to get comfy with enough satellites, but afterwards, it works like always. Of course, TouchFlo did crash on me for no apparent reason a few days ago, and the alarms are a little flaky. It would be nice to be able to customize it completely, and get Pocket Informant, et al., to work properly. (damn lazy coders sometimes) My info: ROM vers.: 1.06.661.1 ROM date: 07/21/08 Radio vers: 0.99.90V Hardware ver: 0080 PRL vers: 04085 PRI vers: 1.34_010 I don't understand most of this cooking stuff. But am keen on trying a stripped down and optimized ROM to improve speed and response time yet even more. I also tested nearly every other Touch replacement there is for WM. And they all have things I like and hate. For now, I keep coming back to TF3D. It's main home screen is neat, but is missing better functionality. And their music player sucks. Nothing beats GSplayer (IMHO) Anyhoo, I'm eager and curious to continue hacking this thing, and trying new ROMs on it. Once I learn how the heck to flash anything. Keep up the good work. ![]() |

Re: Official Telus Diamond Thread
I did all the tweaks on the first page of this forum: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35592
If you're still wondering how to get your GPS to work, simply go into TomTom, Change Preferences, Show GPS Status, Configure, Select "Other Bluetooth GPS receiver", COM4:, and you're Done. Be sure to be at a window or stand outside, and give it a minute or two for the satellites to be picked up. Easy. |

GPS Registry Settings cab
before I installed the GPS Registry Settings cab, my GPS was slow to start but then worked with no problem, after I installed the cab file GPS no longer finds satelites. Anybody know how to reverse the cab instal? Or looks like going to have to hard reset.

Re: Official Telus Diamond Thread
GPS has worked right out of the box for me. No tweaks, no hacks, didn't even have to fire up Resco. I currently have TT7 and Google Maps running and I've never even started Telus Navigator.
Again, my location makes a huge difference in determining how long a lock takes, or even if I can get one. I live in downtown Vancouver, and sometimes I won't get a lock at all if I'm surrounded by tall buildings. Then I go out to the beach and get a lock in 30-45 seconds. I spent many hours banging my head against the wall when I upgraded my Vogue to 6.1 but couldn't get a lock because I was in my apartment. So when you're doing your testing, go play outside! |
