Finally Sprint Diamond on Verizon, but...

Hi, all.

I'm new here, and I was able to activate my Sprint HTC Diamond on Verizon with tons of help thread here.

I want to post what I did for successful activation.

1. Find MSL or SPC code with registy hacking.
2. Find real ESN or HEX number from MEID HEX.
3. Change MSL to all 0 '000000' using QPST
4. Change sprint PRL to Verizon PRL using ##PRL#
5. Dial *228 and choose option 3
6. Unlock the phone for updating customized rom
7. Update rom (I'm using Mighty rom-Generic Brand)

That's it.

I have been using it about 3 days, and I'm so happy except the following;

1. The roaming triangle sign is always on even I updated roaming OTA program. Anyone help?
2. The Data service is still working on it, only TXT message is okay.
3. No Verizon Sign or letter, Just preferred system shows.

If anyone has a Verizon Rom or additional info, Please help US.

in order to get rid of the roaming triangle you will probably have to update your pri to a Verizon pri. i also read another user cleared mtu as instructed by verizon when he got his handset activated and it got rid of it.

Do I have to contact VWZ tech? Is there any way to update by manually?

So you gave Verizon the Sprint ESN, and they activated it with no problem?

Once you change the .prl to verizon, unlock the MSL and reset the SPL to 000000. You can activate the phone just by dialing *228 option 3 from the sprint phone. You never have to call the Verizon's tech dept.

So you could technically have a random Verizon phone on your account, modify a Sprint Diamond like shown above, and it would work? What I'm saying is, what ESN is on the account?

The phone's ESN aka the original Sprint ESN would be on the account. Verizon started activating other companies phones.

So would Verizon have anyway of knowing that you activated a smartphone or not?

I'm asking because I'd like to use a Diamond on Verizon without a data plan, but they changed their policy and now require smartphones to have data plans.

But if I just go and activate the phone, will the ESN or anything else give away what I'm using?

I think not as the phones right now usually show up as an unknown phone. I think this is due to the lack of the ERI file but I'm not sure as I can't get the ERI file to take on my Touch.

For those that have successfully switched to Verizon please check to see how it is reporting your phone.

I'm happy to see that this is working for everyone.
