From all indications so far, looks like you will be heading to T-Mobile (AT&T may also be a possibility but given that T-Mo UK has it, it is not a far stretch to think T-Mo US will be next). I don't think Sprint will be carrying the HD2 which is why I would have settled for a Whitestone/TD2 until WinMo 7 based phones are released next year. Apparently WinMo 7 is slated for a 3rd quarter 2010 release.

I'm up for my two year renewal now, and I have a touch. I was really hoping to get a Sprint equivalent of the Imagio. Come on Sprint!

Couldn't be happier about it going to T-Mobile, they have great 3G coverage here, plans are cheap, customer service is great Bring it on!

where are you getting your information from. T mobile over seas gets a hell of alot of phones thet T-mobile in the states never see like the original HD for instance. So that wouldn't be a good indicator. Now i do believe that T-mobile in the states will see the HD2 but i also have heard some rumors that sprint will be getting it along with a few other carriers. Just think, Sprint hasn't released an upgrade for the touch diamond. So i'm sure they are going to release something that is a all touch screen windows mobile device. This is all speculation but it's to early to start saying who is and isn't getting the phone yet.

i use to work for t-mobile and they suck ***. Aside from good customer service there 3g is minimal and there phone selections is ****ty. Sprint is definitelty better then t-mobile and i believe sprint will be getting the HD2. That phone is getting more hype then the TP2 did and all the carriers got that phone. i see no reason for the same thing not to happen again with this device.

I am getting my information from Engadget, PPCGeeks, Sprintusers.com, Phone Arena, Phonescoop, Pocketnow, PPCThoughts, JAMM, etc. just to name a few. Possibly some of the same sources you are getting your information from. Several of these web sites have quoted HTC's CEO Peter Chou as saying Sprint did not approach his company about acquiring the HD2. Phone Arena has listed under their "Upcoming Phones" section for Sprint, the TD2/whitestone which has yet to materialize. From various threads at Sprintusers, "Sprint insiders" have said that Sprint will carry a TD2/whitestone. No one with inside info is leaking or confirming that the HD2 is even being considered. We know that T-Mo UK has the HD2 so why would it be a stretch for T-Mo US to get it. They were after all the 1st big US telco to get the Touch Pro2 with Sprint, AT&T, and Verizon following. I have no idea why Sprint has taken so long to release a keyboardless variant of the TP2. AT&T and Verizon both have. I don't assume the lack of a TD2 on Sprint means the HD2 is coming. The Touch HD despite being one of the best WinMo phones released at the time was never adopted by any of the US carriers. I also don't see why AT&T would add the HD2 to its lineup given it would be a direct competitor with the iPhone. While anything is possible, there is no definite indication right now that Sprint will carry the TD2 or HD2. The big marketing push on Sprint right now is towards WebOS and Android based phones. I suspect that until WinMo 7, the telcos are going to heavily promote other OS's and limit the number of WinMo phones they carry. Personally, I don't care who gets the HD2. My contract is up with Sprint and I can go anywhere now. I would hope Sprint gets it but they may have to count me as yet another lost customer if they don't provide a reasonable phone upgrade path (e.g. TD2 or HD2).

Best post in this thread! Btw I am in the same boat with you regarding contract fulfillment, upgrade path desires and sources of information. Thanks given, well done sir

PS - There is no doubt that Sprint is a heavier hitter than T-Mobile when it comes to nationwide 3G coverage, but all indications point T-Mo USA getting the HD2. All the Sprint HD2 talk is pure conjecture at this point. Just because you want it bad enough doesn't meant it's going to happen.

For me personally, T-mobile works great in my area and I have no problem switching.

Your arguement earlier was that t-mobile UK was getting the phone so that was a good reason to believe that T-mobile in the US would be getting it, and i stated that just because they get the phones overseas doesn't gurantee a US release and used the HD as an example. Secondly t-mobile was the first "TELCO" to get the Touch pro 2 not sprint, and what company has guranteed that they will be getting the HD2 in the united states.....NONE..... and what US carrier has approached peter chow aquiring about the HD2 that we know of for a fact? Who knows if after that article was written if sprint or any other carrier for that matter approached HTC about the HD2? We don't know. All we have are rumors at this point more of which are suggesting t-mobile. Which was the same last year when early leaks of the TP2 came out. We didn't have concrete information that sprint was getting it but it only made sense that they would. And low and behold all of the carriers got the TP2. The point of my other post was not to say you were wrong but to suggest that it's to early for you to just rule sprint out.

Edit: and you obviously didn't read that link you posted because they are basically saying the same thing i have.
