I did. It worked great. It should be re-released soon as they are doing some final testing right now.

I'm new to the Android scene. What is the recovery and what is it used for? When he was asking for the recovery is that the stock rom thats on the device? I'm just looking to get more detailed information because it sounds interesting.

Re: USCC Desire

Recovery is one level up from bootloader. I'm not sure what stock recovery can do as I have never really played with it. I assume it is only a factory reset type of deal. Clockwork is a modified recovery utility that allows you to flash custom roms, kernels, make backups, factory reset etc. I'm sure there is a lot more it can do but those are the basics. obviously you need root in order to load the modified recovery.

Re: USCC Desire

For anyone that has root, AdamG on xda has developed our very first Froyo ROM. It's still an early build, but it works surprisingly well.

Re: USCC Desire

got mine rooted this morning as well and pulled that damn city id off. Honestly it seems like allready the battery is lasting longer. Every time i had the task manager up city id was always running. not sure if that was the culprit or not, but battery life is allready better.

Re: USCC Desire

rooted the phone with the beta unrevoked, used i think it was called system manager off the android market to browse to the system/apps folder and deleted that crap off. I've been texting and using hte phone ALOT today and my battery has hardly moved compared to before where it'd be at half by now. I swear that ciy id crap is sucking the battery.
