I'm curious though about Microsoft's strategy. From what I'm reading and seeing about Windows 8 for desktops and laptops, MS will be incorporating some of Zune's and Phone 7's features into the OS, but retaining what users like about Win 7 and earlier versions. Backward compatibility is assured. I wish MS had done the same with Phone 7.
Sometimes you gotta cut your losses and anything lower than wp7 was slow and unresponsive. I really like the speed of this and I am afraid that adding backwards compatibility will make this operating system as slow as the one I left in the past. New apps are good. Thing is WP7 is way too locked down and missing some extremely important features that were standard years ago. I'll wait and see what mango has to offer but I am still enjoying the responsiveness of the phone which is something that wasn't possible on my Mogul, Touch Pro or Touch Pro 2 no matter who's rom was used or how much they were overclocked.

[QUOTE=eric12341;2112022]yea but its not a bad idea. these threads make room for other trolls to come in and antagonize the community. u say ur tired of the WP bashing this is the chance to put a stop to it. I know if I were mod this thread would've been closed and bans would've been handed out.

lol, well eric if i close and ban everybody and there threads that you disagree with nobody but you would be here. i can handle the trolls and if i miss a troller feel free to use report button. things are way more "troll free" in the wp forums now.

it depends on what's installed on the EVO and what is running in the background at any given time, for example my cousin has one and it was a bit slower than my arrive at scrolling menus and opening apps. there's also confession on wpcentral where people say that their EVO would always bog down and need to be reset. on the contrary I noticed that my arrive needs to be reset every 10 days because everytime I've managed to reach that (when it doesn't reset itself or the battery doesn't overheat and shut it down) games would crash and not load. we'll see if it continues the next time one reach that mark cuz im at about 5 days now.

whats with this? so you need to reset every 10 days? i don't really get why this should need to be going on and htc still has overheating issues? im not busting balls just curious why you need to reset any phone every 10 days and making sure i didn't misread.

hmm odd i haven't had that happen with my evo since i installed task killer pro which quickly adds what i lost in speed back onto it after killing the apps i'm not using and that was my next question i was in the middle of a conference call and my arrive just shut off i knew it was hot but it shuts off now wtf .. i dunno anything about the reset cause i restart mines every morning i get out of bed ..

Re: I'm on the fence on whether I love or hate WP7

I actually never get the chance to let my Arrive stay on for so long. I change out the battery every day at least 3 times. So far this phone has been pretty flawless in operation.
My wife's EVO always has a program error and it it asks to force close or wait. Definitely not a phone I could use for business day in and day out. It does get slower the longer it is on.

yea it was definitely a misread. everytime I've managed to reach the 10 day mark or pass it some games I have crash when trying to play them, seems to be that a cache needs to be cleaned out or something,I'll have to wait 4 days from now to confirm tho cuz its been like 6 days since my last reset so far which isn't bad considering that 5 days is a work week. as for the overheating and restarting, that only happens when im on Ev because as stated before several times across this site, the sprint towers in my area are weaker and fewer than they were a year ago so the phone has to constantly search for a stronger signal which draws heat. since I have a better router now being on WiFi fixes this.

if you live in southeast Wisconsin you're likely to be suffering from the same signal/tower issues that I am. and as for ur evo I bet if u let it ran without resetting ud experience the slowdowns and such. and why does one have to install a task killer? in mango background processes will be restricted to how much CPU and ram they can use.

cause task killer is just like a task manager it shutdown apps that are running the in background and gives u back the cpu and ram that was used when the apps was open i know with mango it's suppose to support task manager .. and what do u mean without resetting i would experience slows downs i reset both devices daily just to refresh em for the day ahead it only makes sense cause i can't turn off the arrive and let it charge at night .. and yeah i know but i also have an air rave in home that suppose to help with the lost signal issue thing is my arrive won't work it but my evo does ..

My Touch Pro 2. I don't need backward compatibility if it takes any speed away. I am finding out that I much prefer a functioning phone over a fully customizable POS that was both a bad phone and horrible web browser. Then again, I can't blame the phone too much but the latest energy rom that I installed which ruined it.
