Here's how I got my 6700 -> 6800
I just sent in my 6700 for another (refurb) 6700. Problem was the refurb was also defective (audio jack issues; same problem I've always have had with the 6700s). I called up the insurance co, informed them that the replacement was defective, they transfered me to another rep, who indicated that the refurb'ed 6700s were on back-order. I asked if it would be possible to get a new unit to avoid the problems and she indicated that I could get a new unit but it would be a 6800.

I'm on my 4th 6700 since october and will need to take this one into sometime soon. It keeps hanging when it has a memory card in - the screen will be black (as if you press the power button) and nothing will work until i take out the memory card. Kind of hard to prove so i've decided to wait till after the holidays - and go figure now it hasn't done it. first two, the joystick went out, the third one hard reset on me twice. I've argued with the ins company and they will not get me a new phone regardless of my threats. they don't give a shit on whether i drop sprint or not. I've complained to a sprint c/s rep and they offered me 200 bucks off a new phone(mogul or touch). i don't think i want to spend 250-300 bucks to get a working phone so i think i'll keep exchanging em till they run out of the damn bricks...

My 6700 has been replaced
Well, last week my 6700 stopped accepting calls. I could still make a call, but the phone wouldn't ring or respond on an incoming call. So, I took my phone to the main sprint repair center in San Diego. About an hour later, they gave me a brand new, in the box, Mogul.
I had that 6700 for almost 3 years and it was flawless. I flashed it many times to try out new features and I owe all the kitchen developers a great debt for making my 6700 a pleasure to use. When I asked the girl who handed me the mogul what had failed on the 6700, her reply was " it's just a crap phone, I see more of these come back than any other phone". After a week with the Mogul I'm really liking it a lot. Mostly due to the strong family resemblance in both the phone itself and the applications I was able to install based on my experience with the 6700. Thank you all for your tips and vast information resources, and I'll be hanging out on the mogul forums now.

i took my 6700 in a few weeks ago because of a dead spot on the digitizer and they gave me a refurbed 6700 i was really hoping for a mogul since its a lot lighter and i love the snappy keyboard
i guess i will have to try again for a mogul when my 6700 breaks again |
