As for the previous post about white noise, I don't experience any hiss with mine. I've actually had two people tell me to quit shouting at them... bad habit from previous BT headsets I've owned. I can hear my callers wonderfully as well and the sound quality is very good. I'm keeping both my Z9 headsets for when I really do lose one of them for good. Definitely two thumbs up. |

So from what I can tell it's either the Z9 or the Jawbone. I work with machinery so it's pretty much loud all the time if I'm on my phone anywhere at work. My only stipulation is I have smaller ears. Most any headset I've ever gotten is too big. Is one of these going to be better than the other?

brightedge, I have "white noise" on mine as well but it is hardly noticable once I am in a conversation. I returned my first one thinking it was a bad unit but it happened again with the 2nd one. Firmware 3.3 seems to have caused it to get a little bit louder. Keep us posted if you get a reply from tech support.

Z9 needs bigger ears, LG HBM-730 just right
I've had my Z9 for about two weeks after reading about it on this forum. I also have used a LG HBM-730 for several months. While the Z9 is slightly smaller, the LG has a smaller earpiece which is more comfortable in my ear. However, it developed a problem which I couldn't overcome ... it would shut down the connection after 5 minutes of conversation. The LG does appear to be affected more by wind and ambiant noise, but in quieter environs, it works extremely well.
With the Z9, after 20 to 30 minutes, full insertion becomes a little uncomfortable. Fortunately, with the earloop, it is easy to rest it lightly in the ear and manually reset it when needed. The built-in clip is also very handy as I don't always want or need an earpiece in place. My initial impression is that the Z9 has better voice quality, but the LG is very close. My phone is a VX6700 with WM6. |

well I got my Z9 last night, and right off the bat, I like it alot better than my Jawbone. It fits perfect in my ear, and is much louder, alot smaller, alot lighter. very comfortable.
After testing this a.m., I do believe the Jawbone does alittle bit better job w/ noise isolation, but changing from normal to max on the Z9 definitely improved, but the person on the other end could still hear some background noise, whereas on the Jawbone, they could not hear anything. One big feature I like better on th Z9 is how it handles multiple pairings. I have to carry to phones, on the Jawbone I'd have to disconnect from the one it was connected to, then connect to the other phone, just too many steps. On the Z9, you just hit the vol + & - then hit the master button 1x or 2x for the appropriate phone. Neither headset was as good as my Jabra BT5020, it could pair to 2 phones & would automatically connect to whichever one was making or receiving a call. The Jawbone & Z9 require manual manipulation, the Jawbone needing much more. The Z9 just has way more features for me.....anyone wanna buy a Jawbone? lol
