Old_Man_Jenkins - also try setting up windows live but when it asks you which today screen plugins you want try leaving both unchecked.
Good troubleshooting though--that's pretty much what it takes to figure stuff like this out. For what it's worth I tested windows live with my hotmail account and didn't have any freezing issues, but I also never have it show the main windows live today screen applet (not the search but the other one that shows signed in status and new live mail). |

yeah, I always uncheck those today options during the Live setup....I don't need anymore crap on Today, lol.
Hard reset again, then disbaled all 3rd party today plugins. -Setup Yahoo Go, soft reset, no problems. -Setup Live Messenger, soft reset, no problems. -Enabled WeatherPanel plugin, soft reset, no problems. -Enabled WP-Pilot (never used this b4), soft reset, it took longer to boot, thought it was gonna hang, but finially booted, I reset a couple times ok. -Enabled HTC plugin, soft reset, hangs @ WM screen. On my previous ROM (1.0.2) I had all these programs except the WP-Pilot & HTC Home. The other difference was Yahoo Go was installed via Cab instead of cooked in the ROM. I'm gonna hard reset again, & repeat the above process, but skip the WP-Pilot plugin. On a side note.....I have a bitch of a time, get it to hard reset. Takes me half dozen times hitting the soft keys just right then pushin the reset button.....is there an easier way? |

When i get through the end of the kitchen setup process i get an error that says.
"This application has failed to start because RAPI.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." I know i shouldn't be doing this on an evil Vista x64 machine but i am at work and my device just crashed so i figured i may as well try. Anyone know if this is the cause of my problem? I already searched the forums here and didn't see any problems like it. EDIT: I get the error when "createROM.bat" or when i try myself to run "ROMUpgradeUt.exe" |

heh... build in the ClearStorage OEM... that lets you do a hard reset via an app.
So maybe it's a conflict between HTC Home and Windows Live? I will do some more testing on my device (and would encourage others to test also) to see if we can get it pinpointed. |

True... just keep pluggin away at the old fashioned way then. The important thing to remember is that you can't be accidentally pressing any other buttons (like the phone keys) or it won't work. practice getting your index and middle fingers on the two soft keys only.
I've hard reset too many times to count and have become quite the pro at it. Practice makes perfect |

After changing some settings in SPB Pocket Plus I get an error in WeatherPanel that says:
"WeatherPanel: Waiting for storage card... Or invalid layout file" It seems that somehow SPB Pocket Plus breaks weatherpanel? |

*UPDATE*
after hard reset: -Setup Yahoo Go, soft reset, no problems. -Setup Live Messenger, soft reset, no problems. -Enabled WeatherPanel plugin, soft reset, no problems. -Enabled HTC Home plugin, soft reset, hangs @ WM screen. next hard reset: -Enabled & configured WeatherPanel, WP-Pilot & HTC Home Plugins, soft reset, no problems. -Setup Yahoo Go, soft reset, no problems. I'm not gonna try to setup Live, as logical deduction would surely result in yet another hard reset & I ain't do that again today, lol. So it looks like you are correct, there is some kinda of conflict between HTC Home & Windows Live. For now I will do w/o Live until there is a resolution. Thanks for your help Chill! |

"This application has failed to start because RAPI.dll was not found.
Re-installing the application may fix this problem." Found this: http://www.eggheadcafe.com/software/...dows-vist.aspx Am also seeing others say to update to the latest version of mobile device manager. Hope this is some help. namnopereht |
