well i got a call from my local sprint repair store yesterday, and they said my new 6800 had arrived to replace my dead 6700!!!

i didn't even ask about the mogul during my visit, so i cant really figure out why they did it, especially if they have a bunch of new 6700 around.

i was quite taken aback. i just bought a new 2700mah battery for my 6700, and a 2gb card(both i'll have to sell now)

WM6 seems very close to WM5.
the phone speed seems ok, perhaps even slower than a 3.5aku 6700
stylistically is where it really shines. much lighter and smaller, which i love
it even came with a 512mb micro sd, too!
many more buttons as well.

do you guys think most of the 6700 apps will have no problem on WM6?
i'm kind of concerned about voice command, weather panel, jimmy's dialler and noviiremote.
also, am i right to assume there are no custom roms out yet for the mogul? i hate the sprint branding, and all of the lame crap they toss in there(on demand, sprint music store, etc, etc)

all i can say is, smile at your sprint repair center clerk(it was not a "sprint store".) my store was at a mall, with all younger people working there(not that they had anything to do with me getting the upgrade, i guess i just got lucky)

also note worthy; i have the TEP insurance, and they didnt even charge me the $50. it was a good day

at my local sprint store that i go to all the time, the rep/tech there knows that i hack/mod/trick out the phone, he does the same with his. he told me whenever im ready just bring in my 6700 and he'll swap it out with the 6800, my question is, is it worth switching right now? please voice you opinion to help me decide.

ps. im currently running kirvin's new C&S off the 1.0.4 kitchen and stability wise...its awesome.

I know right? I went to the sprint store in Sioux Falls yesterday evening to have my phone checked out...yet again. The techs had left for the day, so I told the girl at the store the issue I was having with it, and that I've gone through two warranty swaps for a 6700 already. I inquired about a possibly swap to a 6800 and was bluntly (and quite rudely at that) told no. So I left and came back early this morning, and spoke with a tech about it. They said there's a problem with it, and offered to do a warranty swap for a lower model phone. (The only handsets they offered me was a treo 650 or a cheap handset...wtf?!) They were completely out of refurbished 6700's and didn't even offer a 6800.

Don't get me wrong, I friggin' love my 6700. Especially since I've been able to tweak and toy with it to my hearts content! I just need something that won't poop out on me hardware wise, and a few of my friends have told me that they haven't had any issues with their 6800's.

There again I've been considering a move to verizon, I might look into that when they release their xv6800. (According to engadget mobile it's due out in October?)

My friend who is a sprint tech is willing to trade my 6700 for a 6800. *Only when the 6700 is unavailiable. He'll get in trouble if he gives me a 6800 when the 6700 is in stock. It's just a matter of time baby!
