I am running the latest SPB Backup as well as the Bluetooth FTP Profile app. When I try to run a full backup of my device, SPB Backup gives me an error "Unable to read from file \Windows\btdisk.tmp"

Anyone else see the same issue? Thinking of removing the bluetooth app since I don't see much use for it atm.

Hey Kolano... nice job on the bug fixes. Regarding the updated PNGs for Audio Manager, I don't see any difference at all in the quality--I don't think WM5 can show 32bits of color information anyway (can it?). It's such a huge space savings in that OEM I'm contemplating just replacing your images in the OEM for the next revision. Can you think of any reason why I shouldn't do that? I've played around with the app and really don't see any difference visually.

Along the same lines, any chance you could take a look at the new comm manager OEM as well? It also uses 32bit PNGs. I tried using irfanview to batch convert them to 8bit (set compression at 0) but the resulting 8 bit files were larger than the 24bit source files! I dunno if that's an irfanview quirk or as a result of using compression in the originals.

It obviously won't save as much space as the Audio Manager OEM but any chance you could look into it to see if converting the new comm manager graphics to 8bit would be worth it? I have to admit right now it's hard to justify the 10-fold increase in space over the old comm manager (~900k vs. ~90k).

Thanks again.

Bluetooth DUN issue

Please add Bluetooth DUN via Wmodem to the issues. I've reported in another thread that this does not work with the Nokia 770 and mikee4fun reported that it wasn't working with his tom tom 910. When I pair the phone to the Nokia, the only available profiles is OPP.

I flashed to the official 3.3 rom, and Bluetooth DUN works perfectly right away. DUN and OPP are listed as available in the profiles.

I just built another ROM from the kitchen and selected internet sharing, wmodem and modem link application. Interesting, this fixes the problem with wmodem. Perhaps there are some missing pieces from the old modem link oem that wmodem needs?

bzo-- Try building in the Modem Link OEM as well as wmodem. Modem Link had some additional dlls with it and maybe one of those is needed.

I can't think of anything else at the moment.

I tried to ensure they matched exactly. They could be made even smaller with subtle alterations.

Since the PNG decoder used seems to handle 8/24bit images fine there doesn't seem to be a good reason to use 32bit images. I did use 24bit for a few, items so small that storing the 8bit palette was bigger than storing them as 24bit. I can't think of a reason to keep the 32bit ones, applying this shouldn't be much different than applying a skin, so I don't see how it would hurt.

I'm using Fireworks. A specialized PNG crusher like Optipng can help, but unfortunately at least that one currently doesn't handle the 32-8bit alpha conversion well.

It goes from 1,141,967 bytes to 854,797 bytes for a 287,170 byte savings. Patch posted shortly.

I'm not sure if this is really a bug or not, but after flashing this ROM and manually syncing the time with the network (Verizon), it keeps going back 3 hours. It's 1:22AM now, and it set it to 10:22PM. This hasn't happened before this ROM...

However, this is surely a bug. With the eaByte keyboard skin, go to options, set it to "Large keys" and check "Use gestures for the following keys" press OK, and you'll see an error in the qwerty labeling. Instead of "asdf" it says "atsf". Pressing the erroneous "t" results in "s" and pressing "s" results in "d".

For those interested, I got the eaByte skin to work by coping the files from "Optional_eaByte_KB_Skin_OEM1_0_0" in the RC4 kitchen, then reflashing.

I can confirm that the SPB pocket plus theme files don't work correctly. I actually removed them from the OEM before I flashed this last time, as they bug me =).
