Just for shlts and giggles, I tested these theories.

I tested the beam theory on my sisters 2002 Toyota Corolla... No dice.

I tested the signal by phone theory on my 2001 Mercedes C240, my 2006 Dodge Ram, and my sisters 2002 Corolla... no dice.

I didn't test the tennis ball theory because I don't have one handy, but it's also nonsense, as the door lock is not a sealed system. IF you can compress air into the car, it would simply fill the door cavity, and leak out through the seep holes inthe bottom of the door. The only possible way it would work is if you had something that could push air into the door faster than the seep holes, window scrubbers, locking mechanism, etc could release that pressure from the door cavity. Presumably, you'd need at least a 5 gallon air tank which could release all of it's air within a couple of seconds. Even then, it's doubtful about whether it'd work.
