my phone has IR as well as bluetooth which I do believe the beam has to be enabled for both to work I might be wrong ..... I'll look in to it!

but in any case my phone transmits RF as well!

I am in the industry so I will be doing some testing !

So I can unlock a car with a wireless router or even a cordless phone too? Both operate at 2.4ghz and have a much nicer range than bluetooth.

Storing up a bunch of alarm codes and setting off all the panics in a 300m radius could be fun
