the file you need is radio_.nbf
ive had no issues putting it on vz handsets using hte NOID tool, but there is an advanced "How-TO" in that folder as well if you are having trouble flashing.
I updated the radio and now its 1.27.

Now when I connect to my laptop via USB it will sync up. Until I try to start WModem at which time I get "COM OPEN ERROR" and then my phone becomes no longer recognizable to my laptop, until I disconnect and reconnect the USB.

I really don't know if it is a good idea to flash radio ROMs of other CDMA carriers onto your device. It may "appear" to work fine but every CDMA network is set up somewhat differently (unlike GSM which is more standardized) so I wouldn't be a bit surprised if this causes problems.

If some verizon users who have already done this would like to comment on any legitimate improvements they see that would be interesting, but I really doubt there will be any.

Long story short: Flashing a radio ROM is risky. People might want to hold off to see if there are any consequences (good or bad) before flashing another carrier's radio ROM on their device.

Well the speed isn't any better, and the reception seems the same thus far.

I was able to figure out how to connect to the internet via usb. I didn't have internet sharing on.

So far I have only seen good reports about flashing to the 1.27 radio ROM. I know I have not had any problems. I see no speed differences but I have noticed a difference in thbattery life. Others have reported some other improvments as well like reception.

Colonel,
Can you recall what you told me to do to get my email attachments to store on the storage card? (yes, they are checked to do so). They want to store to the extended rom and they are unusable when stored there.
Thanks!

I am guessing you have cols latest rom. If so wat u want to do is actually unlock the ext rom. The ext rom unlocker is in start programs. You will not be able to use anything in the extended rom till that is done.

I tried locking it and then hiding it but no luck.

You helped me with this last time. We were in the chat room going through some things and Colonel gave a suggestion and it worked. I wish I could remember what it was.

BC, I think you need to hide the ExtRom again to keep the Outlook stuff from messing with the SD and creating SD2. Best thing it to hit the chat room and see if we can get it resolved.
