Excheese: So, are you referring to the voicedial that was in the original sprint rom? I have only a very deem recollection of that. Maybe saridnour took it out of this rom? At least, I don't see it anywhere on my device.

msilverm: Did this work correctly with other 3.5 roms? Did you reset both devices and try again?

mgioia2: Don't expect too much from pr7. Really not a lot to change. Small tweaks here an there and a safe mode.. posted some info some time back about what I was looking at..

Excheese: The HTC Voice Dialer was removed. MS voice command is a far better app. You could i theory add HTC back in if you really want it, but it would make it hard to support any issues you may have. Just go VC you won't be sorry...

Re: bt issue: itech

for the fun of it 8 pulled out my itech s35. they pair just fine, but all sound still goes though the handset, even with trying two bluetooth gateway toggle programs. I havent found much in searching. now i am on a mission!

any ideas?

[quote="PolloLoco"][quote="mn3kgtvr4"]Figured I'd post in this thread since i'm using the Rom although more of a general issue perhaps. I picked up a iTech Clip Radio BT stereo "headset". It uses A2DP v 2.0 and AVRCP.

testing MMS on Verizon

FastRX8: I think I see the MMS issue. If you can test something for me, I can see if I can roll the changes back into a PR7. Download and install PR4 and then use kirvin's rom mms fix and see if it then works. I made some reg changes to the arcsoft reg that may be what is causing it to no longer work in pr6. If you can validate that it does work, I can pick out the reg differences and migrate them to a test rom (want to make sure that this is the root cause before I pick through the reg) and you can test a pre-pr7 with the files added and kirvin's rom fix in place. I do not use MMS and am not on VZW so I have to get someone else to test this feature.

Sorry I didn't see your post before.
If you notice from my sig, I finally made my own ROM, and it's working great. MMS is working, and I have most of the programs I use installed on hard-reset.
However, your rom is definitely stable and easy to install, so I will test this for you.
I enjoyed using it for many months, it's the least I can do for all your hardwork.
My wife's phone still has your PR6 running, and she hasn't had any issues. (although the mms doesn't work.)
Give me sometime to try to get this done today.
I'll let you know as soon as I'm done.
Internet connection at work is slow, so download will take a while.

OK, downloading didn't take that long.
Here's where I'm at.
I downloaded your PR4.
Then I did a hard-reset.
Flashed the phone to the Official Verizon ROM.
The did a hard-reset.
Flashed to your PR4.

The 1st step in getting the MMS to work, is to modify a registry key.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1\WspHeader

The Arcsoft folder does not exist if I don't let the verizon customizations run. However, the directions do say NOT to let them run, because Kirvins ROM creates this registry entry for Sprint, so it's available to modify.
Anyways, I'll run the Apache_VZW_MMS3.0.6.24_20060124.CAB, which will create this for me. It also makes the changes that the instructions in the post call for.

Sorry, it's a no go.
I tried running Apache_VZW_MMS3.0.6.24_20060124.CAB but that did fix it.
Then I installed getMMSCtxMenuInfo.CAB also from the verizon rom, and that didn't help either.

I exported the registry settings under Arcsoft folder.
Did a hard-reset. Then imported the Arcsoft folder.
This did not work and only had the option to send via Outlook.

Basically, the error I get is "Format not supported".
This only happens for videos. Pictures seem to work, but I don't remember ever testing pictures on PR6, since I'm really interested in video messaging.
I tried sending .mp4 .3gp .3g2 file. All very small.

Let me know if you want me to test anything else. I'll stay on PR4 for a while until I switch back to my own cooked up version.

I have only used your ROM. This happens every time in different cities. Only when I tether the phone.

I also saw another issues if you change the visiting time to lets say pacific time and than go back to home time. The calendar for some reason stays on the visiting time even though it is greyed out.

pr7 wishlist

First of all, Saridnours, you have done an _amazing_ job with your 3.5 pr6 ROM. I absolutely love it! It has made my sprint 6700 so much easier and quicker to use.

I have some ideas, if you do a PR7.

- My MS VC 1.6, downloaded recently, has a enu_g2p.dll file that is newer than the one in your ROM. (2/1/06 00:42, 18182 bytes vs. 9/15/06 5:42 418872 bytes). Nonetheless, my VC seems to work fine with the eariler version. Any clue if an upgrade is needed?

- Fonts that I love to use - mainly because they're condensed and really help with web browsing or long lists in Total Commander e.g. - ARIALN.TTF, BOD_CR.TTF, and GILC____.TTF. I also have these normal width fonts - BOD_R.TTF, GIL____.TTF and GOTHIC.TTF, giving me a nice mix of legible serif and sans-serif fonts (esp with ClearType on).

- I couldn't find bejeweled in your rom ... did it get lost?

- Google Maps

- WM5torage is up to v. 1.75... although it doesn't seem like a major rev.

- taskmgr 2.7, which is an amazing piece of freeware, including a top rate regedit

- I keep my PIE cache on the extended ROM partition.. the only problem is that the default cache size of 14mb is larger than this partition. You can change the registry size, but inexplicably, that entry always gets reset to 14 mb. I use Internet explorer tools to lower the cache size so it fits in ext rom. (I think MS makes this utility).

- For one handed operation - smartskey, allowing scrolling with the vol slider and mapping OK and windows buttons to a long press of the left & right menu buttons. The real benefit comes from mapping the now free windows button to wisbar, functioning as a one button task manager. I also mapped the OK button to the today screen, like a super OK press.

ANYWAY, long list. I am not ungrateful for your work one bit. Just trying to improve a bit on an already impressive effort !!
Thanks.

hey sarid...

need help man... its regarding a2dp... i use jabra 62o with my xv6700 in india on reliance. similar setup like verizon ! now having read thru various posts on skipping issues and having tried almost all roms, this remains to be unfixed... right now am on my frnd hetal's rom (hetal 3.5.4 - which even got a mention here sometime back) which is basically with the new 2.6 core and has been taken from helmi_c kitchen i guess. above these it just has our carrier's customizations.

i use mortplayer too for music and the reg edits which worked for me earlier like
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\BtA2dpSnd
Add "Priority256 "= dword:60 (Use Dword Value)

HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Bluetooth/AudioGateway/Capability
(Dword:69)(Default is 37)

HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Bluetooth/AD2P/Settings/BitPool
(Dword: 60)(Default is 30)
doesnt seem to solve the issue any more... audio still skips on bt... i think the stack on the rom im using currently is csr and not microsoft...

can u pls help me get bt audio going without skipping... thx it done...
