The carrier sync did not correct and update the time for me. I've read this is common on other 3.5 threads - it doesn't seem to be a big deal - I set the time myself.

Will I have a problem with PIE+ now because I didn't set the date/time prior to loading IE? I'd hate to have to hard reset again. I'll have to test it out more.

Also - if you look back to the posts from PR6, others had the same problem with Bubble Breaker - but most didn't care.

PolloLoco: I had heard that there was an issue for a couple people with bubble breaker in PR6, but for most it worked. Since its the same Rom, it had to be a 3rd party app or something on the phone itself (extended_rom?) Never was able to get it to reproduce for me me so could never look at it.
As to PIE+, the only way to make it work since you did not update your clock prior (I warned about that) is to register the app (or hard reset and start over). IE should work fine, you just won't se the PUE+ features. I use IE alot and would recomend purchasing PIE+ as it really is nice, more so having tabs in the browser and to be able to load pages in the background (Links from google searched for example).

Thank you Saridnour. I guess it's not so much of a priority for me - I'll wait to hard reset until there's any major updates. Though as far as I can tell, this ROM's close to perfect.

I've checked everywhere on my phone - and I see none of your ID info. Everything so far checks out with my phone's info or my own. So that's good. I checked the applications you listed - and they are not registered.

Outside of those 2 programs that had issues with tabs not being labelled - (seems to be a common 3.5 problem) I've had ZERO problems with any other program right now. I'll let you know if I notice anything else - but my phone's more stable than it's ever been, and programs run as good or better than before.

Thanks again Saridnour.

The only thing I wish was retained, was the MSN info - so I could poll hotmail e-mail on my today screen. The only valid option is the MSN Live beta - but it's really a resource hog. That said - I know this feature wasn't popular with others, so I can understand why it was removed from your 3.5 roms.

One quick note on the improvements - I've most noticed improvement in the bluetooth quality. Stereo A2DP as well.

While running PR6 with my Jabra B28010, I was able to get skip-free music on mortplayer with a bitpool setting of around 42 in the following registry location:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\A2 DP\Settings]

Now I can set that same setting to 52. I see an improvement above 20% as significant. I'm pretty happy.

I must say the new pr8 is sweet! Fast and stable, with 0 lock ups so far, I've had my phone on since Sunday, and I still haven't had a lock up.

For those of you who are waiting for this to be released, you'll be quite happy with it so the wait is worth it =)

On a side note,
PDANet for me isn't connecting for some reason, I'm still trying to troubleshoot the error, but I was running the new kitchen prior to this beta and it worked with 0 problems.

PolloLoco: The updated BT drivers were suposed to be a great improvement for A2DP. I have not scaled my quallity as mcuh but did notice and improvement runn at the Roms default setting. I would recomend running it using the scaling option (default) and let it adjust the quality for you. You get teh best of both in that mode rather than fixing it to one value (why send high if source is low).

pdx77: Glad to hear you like it Why use PDANET? Internet sharing should cover you here? Just curious why you want to use a 3rd party app to do what is built in?

I do have a revised beta (few small tweaks from test results) if any of the testers are interested in a second build , PM me.

Gotcha Saridnour.

I changed to one bitpool setting - because using the standard callouts, I was still getting some skipping. At 52, music almost never skips. If I ever update the ROM, I might try it at the original settings again.

BTW - this is really irrelevant, I think - but the first time I tried to add a contact, I suspect the ROM defaulted to your area code. It assumed (450) as the area code - or perhaps that's a default. Regardless, that's the only hint I got that the ROM may have come from someone else.

PolloLoco: The Area code (425) is interesting. That is my area code, but that is also Microsofts default area code so it could have gone either way... Anyone else know what the originals defaulted as??

I think the original rom defaulted as 425 if I can remember correctly.

edit: I just got confirmation from the chat room that 425 is the default one.
