Unless you did/saw this you did not do a hard reset. Without a hard reset the systme is trying to use your old data files so your contacts, etc are in the old format that will not work with the newer roms. This goes for all of the updated roms you will find here. If this is not the case, you may have a bad flash or bad hardware. Restor the rom issued froom your carrier and see if the issues go away then maybe try the rom again. RE-READ the first post as it details the steps to correctly install the rom

Quick Question, Saridnour,
I just ran the flash, on my newly issued PPC-6700 (Got it a few weeks ago) and the unit stays stuck in Bootloader mode, no matter how many times I try to reflash with your ROM, or do a HARD RESET... How do I get around this issue? Is there something that I am doing wrong?

FYI: the default area code can be changed in the following reg key:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\AddrBook]
"Default_Area"="614"

Add that to your regedit OEM, and you'll be stylin'

At the risk of asking a question already answered (I tried searching...)

My Backlight timeout when on battery is stuck on 10 sec. I can change it to another value, but invariably soon after that, it reverts back to 10 seconds. Is this a known issue? Is there some reg hack I should use to stop it from always going back to 10 sec?

Hello all,

I just flashed with the PR8 Beta 2 and wanted to report that *228 for Veri$on is working fine. The PRL updated without problem.

That is due to one of two things:

1. Using a "profiles" app that modifies the value as part of a preset profile
2. Invoking the built-in lock on the device. I am not aware of any lasting fix.

Been away for awhile. PR6 is still working well for me, but it's GREAT to come back and see that a PR8 is in the making!! Sorry I missed the beta testing. I'll try to wait patiently for the general release.

Just waiting on a bit more feedback on the beta2. Would like to get some info on BT and VC, but that may not happen. Guess I could start looking at getting pr8 out there. Lets just gve it a few more days to make sure no other blocking issue crop up and Ill see about getting it released.

BTW, I am still on the same test release (pre beta2) and have only had one real lockup issue (due to another app) so I know this should be ready to go out the door real soon! Still need to get teh new xcpuscalar in before it goes though.

I am more then willing to beta test for you. But is there any chance on you posting a kitchen when you get it stable?

Where do I get this beta?

oh its stable Its just not in a kitchen format (its not built using the kitchen) so unless someone else REALLY wants to try and convert it.... it would be a lot of work to do.
As to the stablity, its there. Just making sure the compatibility is as well as missing/personal data is also solid.
