PR4 and issue with "save to contacts"
Hello guys,
I am currently using PR4 and Im quite happy with it except for some minor bugs.... These bugs may also be present in the later releases by saridnour. 1st one: in the dialer mode, "save to contacts" and "create a note" dont work. They dont do anything at all. Also in the call history, if i try to save a number to contacts by selecting "save to contacts" it also doesnt work. 2nd one: if i receive a call while im dialing someone, the phone hangs at that screen. I cannot accept the incoming call. I need to press red hangup button which gives me a missed call later on. Any ideas/fixes? Thank you!

yeah maybe i should do that, but do you guys experience these bugs in PR6? if not that means upgrading would be a good option, but still if it can be done without upgrading id prefer that method. (since it takes some time backing up, reinstalling every stuff etc etc)

FYI: In dialer mode (if you mean the dial keypad screen is open) "create a note" works. Also, in call history, "save to contacts" works. Just tried calling myself on another phone while dialing on the 6700, seemed to work just fine-- no lockup. Hope this helps. I can't confirm that these problems you describe are actually in pr4 or just particular to your phone. I have gone through all the updates with this rom, but I never experienced any of these "bugs" myself. jendand

yes, in the dial keypad screen, when I click on "creat a note" or "save to contacts" they dont work. they dont do anything at all. Likewise in call history "save to contacts" doesnt work. For the lockup thing, when the call is in progress and when I receive a call it's fine. The lockup occurs when there's an incoming call right at the beginning of dialing. So you didnt have these issues with PR4 then? Hmm, that makes me think...

Hey everyone! Im still around
 Just took a bit of time off from the PPC before I got too burt out not to mention catch up on everything I kept putting off.. the other half sort of encouraged that one as well..  I kept tabs on things lurking in the background for a bit and it looked like this thread was getting self managed by the users for the most part. So I felt it was ok to disaper for a bit. Thanks to everyone for providing all the help to the newuser/others that had issues. I was suprised to see how long it had been since I was last on as it really didn't seem too long.. I guess time just fly's. I just did a quick read through of the last few pages and it looks like most questions have been answered. Are there any items outstanding that are up in the air? I know the soft-reset issue is still buzzing but still I have not seen this issue more than a couple of times and I have been resetting frequently. I am now at about the 1 month mark as to not hard resetting or changing roms rev's (record time for me) but still have no real issues and use BT Stereo almost everyday with the default setting (I usualy soft reset after listening for the day).I have not been doing any work on a later rom as of yet as I am hard pressed to find a reason for it so far. Yes there are a few cleanup things that will proably get into an sp or pr release (mp3 defaults and maybe the timing issue when solved) but for now there is no real call for it -saridnour

As I posted a couple of days ago, my lockups on soft reset seem to have stopped. I'm getting no more of those lockups, and I've soft reset quite a lot. I'm thinking (as I believe you suggested once) it might have something to do with the startup order. I haven't tried changing the order to find out. I might just leave well-enough alone. Otherwise, I personally am having no issues with pr6. Glad you're back! jendand

jendand: It was timing of the start order
That is what I changed in PR6 in the initfiles.dat that re-sequenced the order of the startup files. But I could never figure out why it worked for some and not others as they all used the same sequence unless the device itself made some random change. I could see it changing after adding apps, but not the raw base files.-saridnour

hey saridnour, welcome back! i was just having this issue i described couple of posts back... do you have any idea why it might be happening? basically "save to contacts" and "create a note" dont work in the dialer mode and "save to contacts" in the call history. Also theres a sort of lock-up (not system crash, i can easily get back to the system by pressing end call button) at the instant i start dialing someone when at the same time theres an incoming call. when the call is in progress, i can easily accept the other incoming call...
PS: I have been experiencing recent system crashes (didnt happen before, just happened 2-3 times in the past few days). The phone green led keeps blinking as normal, the screen is black which means the phone is in standby BUT pressing the power button wont bring the screen back! AT ALL. it needs soft reset... the led keeps blinking tho. i tried calling myself from another phone, but nothing! it doesnt ring! ...i dont know if anyone has experienced this before... Thanksss!

Peace and Progress to everyone! I have been reading as many of the threads as I could over the past few days when I first came across this site and I must say, you all are the bomb. Saridnour, I see you have been puttin in work baby! Stay on your grind, your doing a lot of good for us all. I am waiting on the 6800 to come out so I can get it, but I am disappointed that it will be released with wm5 w/a potential upgrade to wm6 and of course the different blogs have conflicting information. The most recent pr6 that I found
sar_AKU3.5+_pr6.rar has a few bugs, at the top of my today screen, I can see red and green its not aligned completely. I also can not seem to get windows live to run at all, I see two contact icons, two phone icons and two total commander icons. Do you or is there a more recent update? or do I have to go in somewhere to delete some code or what? oh and im glad to see your back as well, hell I feel like I missed you to and ive only been on for a few days reading.... lol Peace and Progress to everyone!
