WANT TO BETA?? part 2!
This has the BT fix that was verified earlier as well as the missing GAC files that were effecting idtransfer and live mapping.... AND... this has the BT PAN fix! So with this you should be able to connect with your BT to internet sharing and get a pan up and running. This is now working for me [EDIT: the posted sp1beta2 has an error and although has the right data, one space will break it from working. See note down the thread as to a fix]. Original sp1 beta was corrupted when saved, a bug in ce cab manager 2.1.035, now running trial of 2.1.0.50 (yep yet another app to buy..) and is saving correctly. Details on the BT fix here: http://ppcgeeks.com/aku-3-5-bluetoot...xed-t3670.html (thanks RoniXt). [Edit: You do not need to load the BT fix from the link, the link is for instructions only, the sp1 should have the fix in place for you.] Ok here is the BETA sp1 for pr5. Please if you load this, TEST this. Really need to verify: 1- BT audio is going to your BT headset and that you have call control 2- BT PAN is working with internet sharing app. (see link above for setup details) 3- The added GAC files are not breaking your .net CF apps. Look for slowdowns in the OS and apps as well as load the apps that were failing (see a page or two back in thread for details here). IDtransfer was one. 4- Set use JointStereo to 0 as this is true Stereo. Let me kow if this causes any skipping issues. Cab: Beta Closed, sp1 beta3 is available later in thread or look at first post to see if SP1 is released If you hard reset you will loose this cab and need to re-load. Please post your feedback here as soon as possible so others can see results and help get better coverage and verification. -saridnour |

I am using Windows Vista with the Dell 350 Integrated Bluetooth module, which uses the Toshiba BT stack. It took me a minute to figure out how PAN works, but I got it. In fact, I am using PAN right now to connect my laptop to the internet. Here's what I did. 1) Make the PPC6700 a visible BT device (Start -> Settings -> Connections -> Bluetooth). 2) Launch the BT software in Vista and connect to the PPC6700. 3) Go into Network Connections and launch the Bluetooth Network Connection connection under PAN. 4) Hit the Refresh button which brought up the PPC6700 in the list. 5) Launch Internet Sharing on the PPC. 6) Changed "PC Connection" to Bluetooth PAN and hit Connect. 7) Clicked the Connect button on the PC (making sure the PPC is highlighted). Jammrock: You must have used the other BT pan fix as well as it looks like there is one extra space in a hive entry in my rom and the sp1beta2 should connect but no aquire an ip address?? The sp1 should work by itself when corrected without the other fix. Did you use the other fix at one point?
schwos: Sorry you went through all that. After seeing your first post, I re-tested the sp1beta2 and found that the quick addtion I did of the use joint stereo caused me to acidentaly add one extra space to the reg entry listed below. To fix this for now just follow the instructions below. I will update the sp1 pack when I get home. There is an issue with the sp1beta2. I acidentaly added one extra space in the BT pan binding key as I had to manualy re-enter it as I could not import in the cecabmanger trial I will fix this when I get home, but until then use this fix: Open up the reg editor and locate this key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\BTPAN1\Parms] Then select "ProtocolsToBindTo" with a right click. Select Modofy Binary data and change it (all of it) to: 4E 00 4F 00 54 00 00 00 4E 00 44 00 49 00 53 00 55 00 49 00 4F 00 00 00 00 00 Soft reset and that should correct the issue. Same data that was corrupt in the first beta as well. This key is tricky in the cab creation tool and tricky for me to edit too I guess -saridnour |

Yes, I was about to report the failure of sp1beta 2 to support BT PAN when I saw your new fix. I made that reg key change and now it's working just fine. --jendand |

What's in a name? That which we call a genius by any other name would be just as smart. I beat up Sprint and all I have to show for it is this lousy When you were in diapers and wetting the sheets I was out hacking with the ppcgeeks. |

WANT TO BETA PR5 SP1?? part 3!

IDtransfer was one. 4- Set use JointStereo to 0 as this is true Stereo. Let me kow if this causes any skipping issues. 5- Null keyboard (nullkbsip.dll) to hide keyboard when using real keyboard. (optional) 6- new A2dp values for MaxSupportedBitPool & MinSupportedBitPool. These replace bitpool and allow the system to dynamicly set the bit pool based on media, etc. I still find 34 the best value for me as max and is the default. To take advantage of the min/max settings, you must remove the bitpool key as this sets a static value. Cab: ftp://ppcgeeks:ezupload@up.ppcgeeks....5_SP1beta3.cab If you hard reset you will loose this cab and need to re-load. Please post your feedback here as soon as possible so others can see results and help get better coverage and verification. Looking to get teh final sp1 out when the Wisbar update becomes available so this package is almost worthy of not being called a beta. -saridnour |
