Live Search would be a great addition.

I quit using MS reader. Too many issues with activations, etc. For the last few years I've been using Palm reader. It works and no problems. Not a big deal either way though.

I haven't used Mort Player before but I'd be open to try it.

How about .Net CF 1? I still use a couple, and since installing that version in addition to the CF 2 that's in the ROM, I went from a couple app crashes a day to zero. As far as I can benchmark, it's had no adverse effects on other apps.

Is anyone else still using CF 1 apps?

Nice tip about switching the startup order- I also used MemMaid. Did you have to disable PCCommloader.exe in order to change the order? I had to terminate the process before it would let me change an ything. Seems to be working on a few soft resets so far. I also noticed that it happened more often when the device was cradled, but not exclusively.
I do have a registered ver of SPBBackup- and the scheduled backup worked without a hitch last night! Now if I can just get PhoneAlarm to recognize the state changes correctly so that profiles change...

I've also been getting a few of those,"Unable to obtain a server assigned IP address..." error messages when AS connects. Should I just fix them the old way, with the fake server reschedule hack?

There should be launch and depend keys listed. Just do an export of the init key and post what you have.

Ill see about getting pr6 out after looking at these unless someone has a blocking issue..

I had suggested Mobipocket instead of MS Reader. Mainly, I like the fact that you can purchase and install secure books without a PC with Mobipocket. But it's no big deal. Right now, I have both readers. If MS Reader is in the Rom, it'll just make it easier to have both of them. I hope MS Reader being in the rom will still work with secure content. Has this been tested? Seems you're by-passing PC installation which I thought was required to have it read secure content...

I would vote for Mortplayer to be in. It is the most option-rich of all the players. I'd just enjoy having it there to play with. However, it's certainly not worth holding up pr6 for that.

I'm curious: There are only a handful of us posting here. How many people are downloading these roms? Any way to know?

I agree - Live Search would be an awsome addition to this ROM.

This is the post that gives one solution:
http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/420421-post16.html
This is the thread- there are a few other options mentioned:
http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/ppc-6...erver+assigned

I just changed the IP as described. We'll see what happens.

I made a mistake when I mentioned "fake server"- that's a hack to make sure that A/S doesn't start randomly.

I thought Mobipocket had an issue similar to MS Reader activation fiasco. Every time you hard reset your device ID (code or whatever) changes. So if you try to open the books you previously purchased before the hard reset you would not be able to access it.

I remember having this problem once and I decided not to use it again. If things have changed or I am in error, let me know (but this is to the best of my recollection).

While we're waiting for the PR6 release, is anyone willing to share their version of the Sprint EXTRom config file? What are people kicking out/leaving in/adding since much has been cooked into the base ROM? I'm getting to the point of wanting to settle on a "semi-stable" ROM config and I've been fairly ignoring the EXTRom up to now
