Jmckinney1976: Running programs is an exe in \windows. You can just create a new shortcut for lit and place it where you want. I removed it as most do not use it becasue of wisbar but if you need access to close activesync I can see where you would wnat it. CEcmdr has the option to make shortcuts and can place them where you want them and it's in the ROM. I am not seeing an issue with my battery, I do not believe I am seeing any change from pr4 through the testing and final of pr5. But I have noticed that not all installs of the same rom allways run the same (see note to jendand above about this as well). You may want to try hard reset and reload the rom and see if your still ahving the same issues. That might sound odd, but after installing SO many Roms I have noticed that sometimes things just seem off. This could aslo effect your DSOD's as I have not had any either.I also make sure notheing runs from them
that the system would talk to on a reg. basis. Just apps like TomTOm or games

Forgive my ignorant question in advance, but how do I create a shortcut to the .exe file?

Jmckinney1976: Start "total Commander" and browse the \windows dir. Locate the "running programs.exe" then select it (don't dbl click and launch) then go to "file" -> ">>>>>>" -> "Create shortcut". From there you can hit "tree" to browse where you want to place the shortcut (recomend placing in "\windows\start menu\programs" as this will be seen in the start menu) and then just say ok. You can then go to the folder you created the shortcut in and rename it or whatever else you would like to do with it Oh and if you do not see the running programs.exe in the windows dir, make sure "hide files in rom" is not checked under "show". BTW, hiding files in rom is not on by default for this reason, but I recomend checking it as it will speed up the read of this directory in total commander as well as show the files that are in memory rather than the rom.

here is the link for those gac files you were asking for. check and see if you already have them or test them. They are systyem files so they will not be viewable except if you change your options in windows explorer. http://www.ppcgeeks.com/problems-wit...789.html#30286

Activesync

So far so good, activesync hasn't reared it ugly head back up. If I recall, this was the same solution to solving activesync draining the battery for v2.2.

It's been 8 hours since activesync has popped up, I'd say my battery life seems better, but she's a little old and cranky.

Anyways, sar, if you can improve on this release, I'd be amazed.

Saridnour - Have you thought about including the "null keyboard" app in your ROM?

Saridnour - Have you thought about adding this key so the date will only take up one line instead of two?: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Today. Create a dword called "AutoSingleLineDatePlugin" and set to 1.

Secondly, did you include the app to make the necessary changes for daylight savings time starting this weekend?

NUGUY NOTE: has anyone else (sardinour) tried AUTOSTEP? it works differently than Xcpuscalar as it sets the top limit speed at wakeup (520) then allows autoscaling (natively through the processor) from there - works great on your rom sardinour free and very light weight!

If anyone knows how to add the option to the dialpad I would love to know As to the default page in IE,
I just have it load google as its lite. I removed all the unneeded raphinca and html from the rom. Really should be no reason to have to load a page unless your having some other issue with it? You could also make a blank page and copy to the device (blank text renamed to htm) and set it as the start (setting the start page is an option in the menu or set it in the reg).
-saridnour
NUGUY NOTE: already found the reg entries earlier, thanks for the reply though! - Has anyone tried any of the dialer skins on this rom, I would love to toss back on the Vista one, but after seeing the damage they can do on the last build, I'll wait for now.

I know I could create a blank htm file, what I liked about the other one (I think helmi's) was it had two "buttons" in the home page for favorites, and history. Then under those buttons it showed the last 4-5 favorites/history entries you visited. It was very slick. Plus I didn't have to wait for google to load every time I wanted to visit ppcgeeks.com!

NUGUY NOTE: You could also load the plugin "device status" from the ftp here (don't show bat, or mem - speed baby) it will show when any ap (activesync) is running and allow you to close it easily - I just recently discovered it here and it in my must have list now.

Also wondering about thedaylight savings...

Jmckinney1976: I kept almost adding the null app. I have it, just never use it so it just never made it in. I'll toss it in for the next go round. As far as I have heard any aku after 3.3 should have the DST built in. I guess we will see on Sunday.. also if the phone is in sync with your carriers time (I have this on by default) it should get updated regaurdless, but then again we will see on sunday

Disabling the Time Sync fixed my Active Sync popping up issue.
Battery is at 50% after 13.5 hours.
Played some games, made lots of phone calls and surfed the net.
