[quote="Raging Idiot"]Well, I'm just Raging Idiot, so take this for whatever it's worth... perhaps this will lead you in the right direction.

The phone doesn't seem to have a problem without VC on it. I ran PR4 SP1 for quite some tme without problems....until I put VC on. PR5 doesn't help.

This morning, I'm going to do a hard reset and then a soft reset prior to loading the ext rom. Without having that in there, I'll see if I can use VC. If not, then I have to assume its either something with the phone or with the ROM. Since I'm the only one with the problem, I'd go with the phone.

If the problem isn't there, I'll start dissecting the ext rom.

I'll look at the memory while VC is running and crashing to see if I see anything. I don't remember the actual numbers, but storage and program were well over 20 mb each.

If nothing else works, I'm putting the current Verizon ROM on there and returning it for a swap out.

Verizon phone can't connect to internet

After upgrading to this ROM, most things look good, but my Verizon 6700 can't dial the internet connection. It tries, but can never negotiate. Should this work? If so, are these settings correct: Number = #777, user=myPhoneNumber, pass=vzw

Perhaps I have the wrong settings. I simply added a new ISP connection with the above settings and try to connect. I'm missing something obvious, aren't I?

Thanks,
wvufan

cebain, I've got a similar problem only without the memory error, mine just states
Voice Command has encountered an error, please restart voice command and try again" or something close to that.

I do, however, get VC to work flawlessly if I just install the full thing normally. I just can't get the exe to work and get the same error even if I click right on the exe. With the memory this ROM freed up I'm not too stressed about it, but I still have no idea why the exe won't work on my phone.

Bluetooth Cutting Out after alert

I've been running the Clean and Simple ROM for about 2 o 3 days now and I must say I'm extremely satisfied. However I can't seem to get rid or a problem I've been having with other AKUs. When using my Bluetooth it works fine but then cuts out after any type of alert. As soon as the alert audio is finished the Bluetooth cuts out. I don't want to keep the gateway open all the time because I get tired of the hissing in my ear. Is there a fix for the problem I'm having. Are others having this issue? As far as Bluetooth software, I am running

MSVC 1.6
IDTransfer

Thanks in Advance,

-JAE

The user name needs to be myphonenumber - at - vzw3g -dot- com

You can't just enter the phone number, the - at - vzw3g -dot- com is necessary as well.

Note: I would post an at-mark to clarify, but the forum "rules" continue to prevent me from typing URLs. Replace the at with an at-mark... as well as the dot com with a dot... and a com..., and no, there shouldn't be any spaces, just like an email address.

Thanks, that did the trick. I had tried vzw instead of vzw3g, but couldn't figure out how to post that.

Thanks again!

Christopher Price: Now that is REALLY odd as to simplify things I took his BT PAN cab and just added my entries to it and the addtional files to make the sp1 beta. Figured it was less likely to break anything rather than trying to copy the same data to a new cab then adding my extras. Humm I will have to go back and reset and try JUST the BT PAN fix and see if I can get it going by itself. If that goes, I'll spin a new sp1 and see what happens or just flash up to a pr6 with the data in the build and see. Glad you pointed that out though as I was so confident in the sp1 (since it was a copy of the bt fix) that I didn't think to test the original. Really goes to show how people get locked in to a particular view on thngs
Also did you load sp1 then try the bt fix? I am curious if a change in the sp1 was causing the issue and break and the original bt fix corrected it (as sp1 does make one other bt reg change for the bt headset w/VC.)

mn3kgtvr4: Others have reported this earlier in the thread on early pr's. From what I recall it was do to either using the trial of VC or not doing a correct hard reset when the rom was installed. Take a look through the forum and you should find it. I do know that they did resolve the issues.

cebain: Let us know what happens with the factory rom and VC. Curious to hear what the outcome is of this.

What I did on your ROM was load PR5, then loaded SP1. I haven't loaded the BT PAN cab on top of SP1... I did that on other ROMs though (with success).

I know you've solved your problem, but for future reference, or for anyone else having problems, here is an easier method on Verizon phones.

On the Connections screen, click "Add a new modem connection"
Name it whatever you want (I name it EVDO), click next.
Type the number #777, click next.
DO NOT fill in any info under username/password/domain, just click finish.
Now open PIE and browse to any website, the modem will try to dial and a pop-up window will ask you for your info.
Again, DO NOT fill in any info, make sure "Save password" is checked, and click OK.
The phone fills in the info for you, and it will never prompt you again.

Christopher Price: If you happen to go back to my rom or have the op to test, could you try loading it and sp1, verify BT is not working then load the original bt pan fix and verify?
Just wanted to get feedback form someone that has it working as I have yet to. Just need to find what the fail point is so I can get a good sp1 final out. I will be doing more testing on this when I get home but still do not know if my dongle and XPsp2 is ever going to work
