Also, how do you use Internet Sharing? When I run it and select USB and plug it in, Activesync tries to connect and fails. How do we set up the laptop/desktop we want to connect with?

My ## codes don't work either, but installing then removing a dialing skin will usually bring back the code acceptance.

Thanks again to all who made this kitchen possible.

To get Internet sharing working, Disable active sync on the laptop by right clicking on active sync, click on connection settings and then make sure "allow usb connections" option is not checked. Plug in your phone and click on internet sharing on it and click connect. you should be sharing your EVDO

can we get real differences between 3.3 and 3.5, someone mentioned html and I am pretty damn sure that is a Wm6 feature not a wm5 aku 3.5 feature. ANyone know for certain what 3.5 brings to the table?

More updates from me.... I have issues with several of my OEMs (minor stuff, but not quite right) - I'll tweak and test a few more times and once they are all clean will upload them.

Overall, looking good though.

Anyone else confirm that the USB Serial mode/Activesync switch mojo fails?

Also, oddly enough there is no "crossbow" theme in the kitchen. Some of the "standard" speed reg tweaks like no menu animation are also missing. Will try to get a full list of what I needed to do posted eventually.

Just cooked the base ROM and it looks good so far. I haven't really tested anything yet, but I will report back.

I must say though, that I am a big fan of the smart dial and hope a fix is found soon!

Also...1 last question. Can the OEMs from a 3.3 version be added to the kitchen?

Shettj:

The "crossbow" and registry tweaks were/are left out of the kitchen intentionally. Indeed such things should be done w/ OEM packages, as they are changes to the base rom.

We could debate for hours regarding what tweaks are a MUST, but to me that is all pointless. Simply post an OEM that makes the changes and presto you're good to go.

I apply the crossbow look in my "environment", and will consider and try to seperate that part out into an "OEM", though such an OEM also includes actually adapting the OS/LOC and OEM directories from the kitchen, so i see them as more of a "patch".

I havent plunged into 3.5 yet but I am always paying attention to whats going on. has anybody tried the smartdial that Helmi_C put up yet, just want to know since the same question keeps coming up.

btw about Smartdialing, the last supported/compatible AKU that work with HTC Smartdial is AKU3.3, so AKU3.5 is not compatible with HTC Smartdial but U might use this alternative app:

Smartdial is not supported for AKU 3.5 for any device. The Celedial cab that helmi posted does install and work on the AKU 3.5 roms. I haven't been able to get it into an OEM yet though (stupid self registering dll!) I am working on that last step of schett's 4 step OEM process of cook, burn, test... repeat

Do you mean Customize_105201.sa.CAB ?

Installing Customize_105201.sa.CAB did not get the ## numbers working. Was this the correct file?

I tried the ##prl# on my sprint phone and it doesn't seem to work on this rom. It might be the phone skin though. Is there a way to get the old phone skin on this rom?

If you're going to OEM that one, I'll leave it to you. I'm currently working my own list of gremlins from my big batch of OEMs... getting there, about to reflash next round of tests.

Still no joy connecting ActiveSync USB - RNDIS does not work for me (stupid software firewalls) and Serial mode isn't working on the 6700/AKU3.5

BT Sync works fine

Verified Internet Connection Sharing USB works fine- will test PAN BT later
