Voice Command isn't giving me any feedback I realized yesterday in my 3.5 ROM. It works but I don't here the lady say way she is doing. Anyone else have this issue or can test this and confirm it is a global issue with the 3.5 kitchen?

thanks a ton

Ah cool. Ok, so its something odd with 3.5 + .NET 2.0(and/or .NET1) + WLS

we've verified that it fails for:

3.5 + .NET1 + .NET2 (ROM)
3.5 + .NET2 only (ROM)
3.5 + .NET1 only (ROM)

Seems pretty much to cover all bases. Wonder what we broke?

I don't have the time to try today, but the last test is to make a 3.5 rom w/o any .NETs, then install the .Net1 cab, try WLS contact access - then install .Net2 cab, try it... if someone does do that it would cover all bases.

The config that I had that worked (ie, it could access contacts) was WLS + AKU 3.3 + installed .NetCF1 from cab, not in rom but in internal store.

Is this all with net cf2 sp1? Also what version are we using for WLS? I hear it's out of beta could someone link the cab? I want to make sure we are all testing the same version of both packages. These contacts issues could be related to the smartdial issue as well since both are trying to access the internal contacts. Just an idea to give others a place to look. I'm looking at it whenever i have time though.

Is it just not working for you altogether? I'd never used it before, but installed it yesterday after installing 3.5 and it seems to run fine for me. I grabbed the latest cab from wls.live.com.

Schettj,

I'm using the NET CF2 OME in the Kitchen FTP directory and I get the error in Live Search when I select "Contacts."

WLS Problem

I'm running latest cab from WLS (about: version 1.0.2592.31374) , 3.5.1.1 kitchen, OEM NET CF 1.0SP3+2.0SP1 from ppcgeeks ftp.

WLS works fine except for trying to use contacts, tapping any contacts link from WLS gives an error and then it exits. Also doing a search, then trying to "save to contacts" also errors out same way.

Send SMS says it works for found items, looks like just contacts is trying to access something in NETCF that's not working

wow ...

This was my first attempt at cooking a ROM for my xv6700 - no problems - smooth sailing.

I have to say that I am absolutely amazed at how much snappier my 6700 is now. I cooked up a 2nd ROM (3.5 based) with some changes and OEM apps.

I even have a 6 things auto starting (including VZW's wireless sync) and it still boots in under a minute - prolly around 40 seconds and even with all the stuff I have running in the background, it is still much faster than the VZW ROM - truly impressed.

1 question - I decided to use a newer ArcSoftMMS (in the ROM directly - how cool and space saving is that!), but I don;t know what the configuration, servers, username, etc. should be - any know that info for Verizon?

evans, check the Verizon ExtRom. I will look later when I get a chance. One of the cabs includes an xml or other file that has all the settings. It is probably the cab that says MMS in the name.

Forgot to mention - I did check the MMS .cab in the Verizin ExtRom - found a .xml file containing the text at the end - I didn't find the definitions for the variables though - I will keep looking.

Program Memory

Anybody besides me notice that Program memory drops a lot faster with 3.5 than 3.3??? I have all the same OEMs installed in my custom kiitchen, yet it seems that my program memory drops from 23 mb to 15 after a few hours (yes, I know programs are closing, because I check with handyswitcher and memmaid).
