Re: Verizon (Asurion) insurance replacement
So last week I received a replacement XV6700 from Asurion and it seemed to work pretty well w/the new Kitchen image. There still seemed to be an issue using the Bluetooth dial-up networking so I figured that I had nothing to lose and called Asurion again. My called up and received a new Palm 755p to replace her 750 on Monday -- could I be lucky too?
I explained that the DUN would freeze my XV6700 after a few minutes and this is now the second unit that has had this problem. I told them that I didn't care if I had to downgrade or go with a refurbished model, as long as the phone worked I'd be happy. After a few minutes the agent came back to me and told me that they would be sending out a brand new XV6800 kit and a separate car charger. Now both my wife and I have new phones and we're free to explore other relations since our 2 year contract expried in Feb. I've quite happy w/Asurion and my experience w/them. |

Re: Verizon (Asurion) insurance replacement
Alright, I just got my replacement xv6700 from asurion and there are no defects that I can see(screen looks fine, joystick works good). From what I understand, everyone has been getting a 6800 upgrade after their second round of a 6700. Did everyone who sent their replacement back in to try to get a 6800 have a defect? Or is it possible to say there is a defect(when there isn't) and then social engineer a replacement 6800 out of them? Or would that be something they would check(and thus charge me extra etc)?
Thanks ahead of time if you happen to read and answer this. |

Re: Verizon (Asurion) insurance replacement
my wife has 3 LG env's sitting around the house all of which she managed to get ahold of while i was deployed.... i have no clue what happened....
but... fyi, you can talk to verizon about getting your phone replaced if need be. i bought an i730 off of ebay and the screen died 3 months after I got it, after an hour at the store I had no luck. but when I called customer service I got a new phone off the back with no questions. so anyone looking at getting your phone replaced should try the verizon route before going to asurion |

Re: Verizon (Asurion) insurance replacement
Well I know I am getting ready to call VZW and make a claim but I am not going to go through Asurion, I am going to try to get then to replace it with a 6800. Ill let everyone know how things progress.
[EDIT] I called this morning and told her the issues. The first phone I had, the spacebar on the KB quit working so that led to the 2nd phone. Well the 2nd phone (new) was great other than at times the vibe motor wouldnt work. I could bump or thump the device and it would vibe. That led to the 3rd phone I have now which is also a new phone and it has the same issues where sometimes it will vibe and sometimes it wont. She seen it was my 3rd phone and said to take it in to the local store and they will replace it with a new nut when I get there I will be protesting against another 6700. I love the 67 but I also am aware it is getting to be an older device (even though there are NEW ones out there) and I want something a bit more "up-to-date". So I will let you guys know how everything goes.

Re: Verizon (Asurion) insurance replacement
So I wsent into the store and they gave me the run around about how they couldnt give me a replacement phone and I would have to call Cust Srvc to get a replacement. They said they couldnt and but being I was one year in on a two year contract they would let me do the discount early for the discount you get for doing 2 yrs with them and I could use that off the full price of a new 6800 AND sign another 2 year contract. I told them there was no way in hell I was going to pay 200+ for a 6800 AND sign for 2 more years when I still have one more year left anyway. They were also trying to give me a hard time because I have a comany discount associated with this account and I made them aware I get the discount because of the company I work with but the comany does NOT pay that bill and that I do. I made them aware the company does pay for my company provided phone from AT&T and that I may just go ahead and end my contract with VZW and keep my company phone. They really seemed un-phased by my threatening to cancel but this is a pice of thier customer agreement off thier website.
Our Rights to Make Changes Your service is subject to our business policies, practices and procedures, which we can change without notice. UNLESS OTHERWISE PROHIBITED BY LAW, WE CAN ALSO CHANGE PRICES AND ANY OTHER CONDITIONS IN THIS AGREEMENT AT ANY TIME BY SENDING YOU WRITTEN NOTICE PRIOR TO THE BILLING PERIOD IN WHICH THE CHANGES WOULD GO INTO EFFECT. IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE YOUR SERVICE AFTER THAT POINT, YOU’RE ACCEPTING THE CHANGES. IF THE CHANGES HAVE A MATERIAL ADVERSE EFFECT ON YOU, HOWEVER, YOU CAN END THE AFFECTED SERVICE, WITHOUT ANY EARLY TERMINATION FEE, JUST BY CALLING US WITHIN 60 DAYS AFTER WE SEND NOTICE OF THE CHANGE. So I know for a FACT they just went up on their taxes and fees which means I can complain about the affect service and since I do not agree with it I can cancel. I really hate a company that buys **** from China at 1mil pieces at $10USD each and wanna resale at 4-500 you know? So I am going to send a nice long letter to their corporate office and IF that doesnt work then I may just tell VZW to **** off. |

Re: Verizon (Asurion) insurance replacement
I called Sunday to have them send me a new unit. I dropped mine in a glass of water... anyways. After I let it dry for the day I turned it back on and it worked fine so I called Asurion and asked them what unit they were sending me in case it was a 6800. The rep said, "You will be receiving a new or like new replacement." She couldn't tell me the exact model, but I didn't want to risk a refurb 6700 if mine was working fine. I just have to refuse shipment of the new unit and all will be good. I wish I could open it up though and see what they sent me!
