That was for the 3.5 ROM and it was because it was the only way i could port AKU 3.5 to the Apache and have it work. There were device drivers that were causing conflicts. I would never remove USB to make it a "lean" ROM or anything.

On the other hand there are cabs for just about every software install. If it doesn't come with one they generally create one in the Activesync folder on your PC. From there it is possible to copy them via a memory card reader to your storage card. Almost all the software on this forum is a cab so it can be directly downloaded to the PPC though.

colonel In response to your question probably 500k if that.. Which is why I am using your rom anyways.. I was just seconding the request since someone else made it.. I am still trying to make my own.. Finding time to mess with it is the hardest part though...

I would also like to thank you again for putting the time and effort into that rom... Its rather sweet... or at least the best my 6700 has ever acted.

I have a question though.. You replaced the 20224 prl with the 20225 prl in your extended rom didn't you??? Its either that or my prl is reading wrong. I just thought id make sure it wasn't a mistake... Since i like being able to play while I'm away ..lol.

Isn't that a matter of opinion or assumption? Personally, I don't mind paying for software. For me, free doesn't always appeal to me. What someone else gets a total kick out of may not be of interest to me at all.

I don't really want to get into the semantics, but some freeware definitely is useful and many do have features that you may not realize at first glance. One example of a freeware that does more than I expected at first is Total Commander. In addition to a file browser it is also a registry editor and ftp client.

The good news though is that the 3.5 kitchen is built as a Baseline ROM there are no frills in there. It has an updated tutorial for building a rom, but now there is even a post with the roms compiled as an exe in this thread:
http://www.ppcgeeks.com/custom-rom-i...you-t2847.html
If you want a no frills rom with an easy setup that is the way to go. That is, if you want the latest AKU as well.
