That was for the 3.5 ROM and it was because it was the only way i could port AKU 3.5 to the Apache and have it work. There were device drivers that were causing conflicts. I would never remove USB to make it a "lean" ROM or anything.

On the other hand there are cabs for just about every software install. If it doesn't come with one they generally create one in the Activesync folder on your PC. From there it is possible to copy them via a memory card reader to your storage card. Almost all the software on this forum is a cab so it can be directly downloaded to the PPC though.
