audio link missing

Dear Colonel
I have installed and using
02/04/2007 01:56PM 39,587,167 Latest nk.nbf.rar

Great job.
Except the audio link under Start/Programs.
It just shows an empty dos box icon. When you click on it nothing happens.
Just installed a few minutes ago and yes I did a hard reset.
I think the program is missing.
Not sure what its for??

Can anyone confirm this? I've tried everything and it seems that Vista won't "see" my XV6700 via USB in bootloader mode. I've reset the phone to original AKU, put it in USB bootloader mode and run the flash util and it'll sit for about a min sayiing it's reading my device settings and finally come back with the screen that's supposed to show the current version and new versions but all the fields are blank. If I continue from there it'll wait about 15 seconds and return an "Error 150: Incorrect device" or something similar.

I'm feeling that this might be Vista related since plenty of folks are having no probs at all. Vista doesn't use ActiveSync anymore, it uses Windows Mobile device Center. Any help appreciated.

Thx,
Mike

audio.exe opens up the audio gateway profile to a bluetooth headset. You would use that app if you wanted to redirect the ouput of your phone speaker to a BT headset (useful for GPS directions and some people can actually stand to listen to music that way).

In any case it is a very tiny, simple app and does lack an icon, so no worries. Just ignore it if you don't have any need for it. Or you can delete the shortcut from \Windows\Start Menu\Programs.

The audio.exe is installed by Bad Sectors IDTransfer. That is not something that should be in the rom initially.

Don't know about vista for sure, but from what I have read, it will not update correctly. Since I do not have vista at this point I cannot test this. Can you still try to install a version of Activesync? Does your phone say "USB" on the darkend screen when you plug it in?

Planning to incorporate this as well. Anyone have any experiences as to why I shouldn't?

LVMTime? It looks harmless enough. Never used it though. I use the TBOpt registry hack (and always have) to put the date in the top bar and then:

a. it is always visible along with the time
b. it frees up valuable today screen space for other stuff
c. no additional app to run

Beginning with WM5 it's gotten a little quirky though. It gets bolded while the clock goes underneath and is unbolded. Also, because of the bold type it exceeds the width available for it, so the last digit of the year would get cut off. That is until some genius came up with the solution of adding a space or two to the end of the short date in the registry, which totally corrects that problem.

Anyway, I know there are probably plenty of people who still like to have the long date on the today screen, and haters like me can always turn it off, so why not?

What is this hack? Apparantly I have missed it somewhere along the lines. I have looked for this before, but must have missed it.
