In total commander, tap the "\\" at the top it should show you registry, ftp and something else. Tap registry to go to the registry. That is why I did not include any other editors. It is a little limited, but as a basic editor it works alright.

Pocket Xpdf, psShutXP, and UPX4PPC installed, flashed and running. Anything else?

Oops, do not have the latest Null Keyboard and it is self registering. This might take a few minutes. Finally something of a challenge.

So colonel, are you not going to attemp the Rom Kitchen at all? I'm still waiting for free time (sigh) to do something with it, but it sure looks like its the more modular way to go.

schettj, I am not sure about the rom kitchen at this point because I would have to start over since I cannot import my rom into it. I am more than happy to help people create the modules so that others can use it. I am just more comfortable with the other method right now. Hell, I just added 5 apps and flashed twice in under an hour .

Pocket RAR is in. I will look at the vibrate keys.

Do you have or need the "ActiveSync Switch" that 2.2beta2 has?
Edit:
yea I couldn't sync without it.
Wohoo this next cooked rom is looking very juicy!
Now I gotta redoo my Extrom

When you learn how to "cook" in the "kitchen" (sorry for the pun, but I couldn't help myself), care to make a guide "dummy's guide"for us noobs out there? I peeked into the kitchen and stared to get a headache...and it would be greatly appreciated if an easy to read guide was made!

ActiveSync switch is built into the comm manager now (I think)
I understand colonel, but it's sooo much harder to share this way - porting back and forth between the two methods.

Sigh.

On the upside, I think I have the Rom Kitchen to the baseline I wanted. I need to flash and make sure it works.

It should be exactly the same as the Helmi 3.3 rom, except it should have the correct P&V dlls in place, and include .NET2.0SP1 (from your post)

For me, that would free up almost 2MB of internal memory.

So it would be a viable baseline for starting to add OEM packages. The up side to this is, the kitchen should let *other* people build their own roms, with whatever OEM things they want - just copy in or delete out the ones you want/don't want, and rebuild.

To get packages set up, just ask me and I can get you everything you need. I just haven't read into formatting registry entries. Actually, you could dump my rom and get almost everything except registry entries that are hard to find sometimes. Regardless, if we can get a thread, forum section, or wiki going, all you have to do is ask me for the info for certain packages and I can get the info to you. You can package it up and get it into a ftp and wiki.

However, if progress is made with the Crossbow rom or another one with drastic improvements and we can get it in a kitchen, I will probably start there since I would be starting from scratch and it would be less work for me.
