Alright guys, so far, for the most part, this ROM is working great. But a few problems started popping up yesterday that are crucial for me. They have not been addressed in this forum that I could see (though it's hard to keep track of everything in 24 pages), and yes i did read every single page (a search within forum feature would be spectacular here). Here are the list of problems, maybe someone can help:

1: Error when I do Sync with my exchange server OTA. The error code varies, but usually it has something to do with memory (I have between 10 and 15 megs free when this has happened)

2: Today, using my phone as a USB modem has caused it freeze every 1-10 minutes (though so far, removing the Arcsoft MMS app seems to have fixed that problem)

3: using the Palm Threaded text software will sometimes cause my contacts to disappear. I know people in the Palm threaded text board have said this, but it's impossible to go through 74 pages of posts. I made it through the first 50 before giving up, so maybe someone here knows the solution? (for some reason it seems to work when I install BTAudiotoday. Weird.)

4: PIE is not loading any pages, including the default one that's stored on the device

5: not a problem so much as a question: did everybody else have to manually set up their connection to the internet, or was it just me?

I hard reset my phone at least a dozen times last night trying to figure out solutions with no luck, so I know it's not a question of enough hard resets. I haven't tried reloading the ROM yet, and plan to do that tonight after work, and hopefully that'll fix it. I did notice that most people hard reset their device before loading the ROM, and I didn't do that, all though until yesterday, the device was working perfectly nonetheless.

Also, of the programs that normally install after a hard reset from sprint, are there any that i'm supposed to load, like the IOTA app or anything like that (I soft reset to avoid most of that crap installing)?

Thanks guys, sorry the post is so long. Just wanted to give as much info as possible. Thanks!!

I found a problem today after I installed the AKU3.3

I subscribe to XM radio and I can listen online. But when I goto the page to login and start the stream it doesn?t bring up WMP and nothing happens. It wasn?t like this b4 I updated.

Go to settings, button, "lock" tab, and make sure you check "lock all buttons except power button". Also, check your backlight settings to make sure that the device goes in standby mode after 1 minute, etc.
I've noticed yesterday i've had battery drain and I had nothing running other then DirectPush. I turned that off, but that didn't improve much.

But yes, i've looked at all the possible power saving settings, so i'm wondering...

It must be something you're running - see my "what's your power budget" topic http://ppcgeeks.com/whats-your-power-budget-t2432.html - that's using the Helmi 3.3 rom, no direct push. You should be able to check your own power use and see if something is running amok drawing too much power...

It stays pretty low at 44mA until I turn on DirectPush or just connect to EVDO then it stays at an average 371mA, it never goes any lower then 349 while connected. Is the data doing something I don't know? I even closed all the apps and activesync.

I'd really apprecaite if somone can help me with this. 've already skimmed thru these pages but dindt find anyone w/ this similar problem. Somone had it but it was resolved.

I had the latest official rom installed from sprint. Then i upgraded to the AKU 3.3. Ive tried the original rom, n all the custom ones and in all the roms I had the same issue ie. my contacts wont come up. One a press the contacts icon i see the contacts section for 1 second and it goes back to the dialer or the today screen. Currnetly I have no contacts atall. All my contacts are in my ms outlook.

With the original ROM, i'm able to ATELAST see the contacts section and it says "No contacts" but right now it just flashes back to the today screen. Is this a known issue or am i missing something?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This ones been answered several times, and it is one fix for both problems. You absolutely MUST do a HARD reset of the device. Not what the picture showed after the install, but a real hard-reset. This is the "clear all memory" press Y to continue. Either reset w/ both softkeys down, or from settings do a "clear all data". then answer Y.

After the reset do NOT restored contacts from a backup, but resynch them over the air.

Yep. that's not right. Your non-network power level is fine, but something is accessing/keeping your EVDO link up and running, which it should not do - you can only go about 3-4 hours like that

Try this very nice task viewer: http://buzzdev.net/index.php?option=...7,15027,page=1
You want version 2.7 http://buzzdev.net/index.php?option=...le,27,file=228

You'd be looking for somethng odd running all the time (its going to be something running in the background that you can't see with the normal "Running Programs" control panel) - perhaps a pocket msn app (pmsn) - at any rate you should be able to view a process list, and sort by cpu usage, and see which process(es) are using CPU when you turn on EVDO.
