Re: WMWifiRouter
no matter what anybody says, he has done wonders for the users everywhere. Give him some support and credit. Obviously he has his own reasons for doing what he wants with his own product. Even though my comments might not mean much, thank you chainfire for your contrbutions to the community and good luck on all future endeavours that come your way

Chainfire,
Your product is still a hot item. 'Bastard Chainfire' now that is to funny... I will continue with what I have and when there is a better version that works as great v.91, I will buy it and continue to support your product. Thanks for great product! |

Re: WMWifiRouter
Chainfire, I wouldn't take things personally. Given the option between finding the older free version and paying for a new version that does not YET have significant changes, you'll find that many will seek out the old version. The reason I stressed YET, though, is I've seen how far you've developed the app so far and I know that very soon, the older version just won't cut it. You know as much as anyone how much us geeks are fanatics for our phones. We can't just sit on something when we know something better is waiting for us. I'm all for developers being able to recoup their investment in their software, be it time you invested, money you spent for development tools, etc.
I can even appreciate the need to turn a profit :O I can't see spending as much time as you are without being able to turn a profit. In order to create this program you had to take time away from either work, family or fun. In all those cases, you gave up something to do this. As such, you should be reimbursed for that effort by those who feel the need to use WMWifiRouter. I say, just keep doing what you are doing. WMWifiRouter will advance and at some point become irresistible to those who are now using the older version.

![]() Just recall that a lot of people do a lot of "free" work in the ppc space - people like the folks working on rom kitchens, people here and at xda who make and give away a lot of applications. People who run websites. You know, the people all around you here and at xda developers. Specifically for THIS app, which is a nice integration of some manual steps and some patches that were documented over at XDA, its somewhat troubling to see it go commercial. You can choose to do whatever you want - 20+ years ago I used to do shareware for the Newton, I got a few dinners out of it, and finally decided to just give the stuff away. But then I had/have a full time job and do this stuff for fun. You could consider supporting the free version as is, and then release an improved one for $$ - no support for the free one, etc.... |

To each their own opinions though, I'm done discussing it. I have my reasons, if you like to think it is because I want to make this my day job or see it (or you guys) as a cash cow, then go right ahead. |
