GPS Working fine for me

I use an external Bluetooth reciever and IGuidance 3 with no problems. I did have to add the GPS icon myself through the registry hack though.

Do I count as a beta tester even though I've had nothing but positive comments on the thread?

My test results: Snappier, BT issues

Mike-

Thanks for making this custom ROM available. I just installed it this AM, and it looks great (Crossbow is awesome).

I have installed TodayAgenda and TodayTime so far. Will be installing more over time.

Observations that have come up thus far in the process include:
1. MUCH faster response (I have another PPC6700 that has the Sprint ROM (latest) installed, and side-by-side response is definitely faster with this latest custom ROM);
2. BT connection not as easy to make (when I first tried to connect to my mac powerbook g4 via BT, I had some interface issues; these went away on my second try, and all was good in connection land);
3. Tethering via BT does NOT automatically disconnect after 6-8 minutes (historically with prior ROM, my mac BT tethering had automatically disconnected after 6-8 minutes of being connected; with this custom ROM AKU 2.2, I was able to stay connected for 18+ min (I disconnected after that), was able to download a few files for my PPC, and showed pretty good speeds for BT (178kbps down, 88kbps up) for having a 0-1 bar EVDO connection)

I will report more as I observe more. Also, Mike, I shot you a PM showing you an old link (from pdaphonehome) how to do a portable extended ROM, in the hopes of seeing if it was adaptable to make the custom ROM fully customizable by the end user; please let me know if you want/need some assistance in that adaptation process.

Thanks again for great work here.

So far everything is going great. Did a hard reset, installed the custom ROM. Now i am putting my favorite apps back on. So far i have installed

MVC 1.6
SPB Backup
Tom Tom Navigator 6
O2 Plus
Resco Explorer
Palm Messaging App
Picture Mail App

No issues with any of the today plugins at this time. I have a today plugin for O2 (shortcuts, battery and memory meters) and the today plugin for Tom Tom.

I will be testing the GPS tomorrow with my BT receiver tomorrow when i go out (unfortunately i have to work tomorrow )

Thanks for the hard work Wideawake!

P.S. I like the idea of removing the Voice Dialer from the ROM to save space

The reason Im doing this is, I dont want a Beta out there floating around when I should have a finally build soon. All I need is some people who are willing to hard reset! And install apps they were running like before, NO BACKUPS, only fresh installs. This way if there are issues we can track them down and I can try and figure them out. If you feel that you wanna be a beta tester and are up for it, then please PM me for the rar password. Below are so things done (mostly behind the scenes ) And if you get try this please report ANY issues to this thread. I also have been running it now for a few hours with no issues as of yet. :P
Thanks,
Mike

Note: .NET CF 2.0 was removed because of issues, once fixed the download will be updated.

Features:
- A2DP built-in!
- HTC X Task Manager. (go to start/settings/system to enable)
- ApacheHax NO longer needed, registry pre-tweaked.
- Maximum number of connections tweak.
- No more dinging when volume is changed in call.
- Ligthen by removing un-needed files. (Saves about .5MB)
- UPX'd a few system files. (Saves about 5MB)
- Went from Telecom to Alltel base OS, so bootscreen now says Alltel.
(Looks better imho :P )

Known Issues:
- Video mail gives a unknown file format error.
- Today Screen Plugins dont always load after soft reset.

Download:

how do i pm you to get the password?

no more beta testers needed at this time. I to seem to be having issues with msvc and my headset. Working on fixes, and will release a updated list of issues soon, and what will be intergrated.

Have you tried to remap the buttons so the the flag is the start menu and then only have the notes key as the press and hold for voice command and set the button 5 as none and button 5 (PRess and hold) as voice command?

After using tom tom 6 all day yesterday while dropping off gifts and going back and forth to work....i can see no issues with the BT receiver and the new ROM. I was also using my BT headset while Jane (i call my phone Jane) was navigating. Still no issues.

No issues with my today plugins either.

So far nothing negative to say about it.

Testing will continue!

Merry Xmas All

Did you UPX your MSVC? I noticed that when you UPX this program, and attempt to use a BT headset with it, it won't activate the voice command. It will instead leave the audio gateway open.

nall, I even did a hard reset. I gota h350 for christmas and with msvc 1.6 it activates with the headset, then cuts to the phone. Very odd. Have no clue why. My hard key 5 is press for msvc and press and hold is notes btw.
