I want what he's smoking.
RevA just ups the uplink side anyway, so mostly it's not gonna make much difference to your average ppc6700 network app. the 6700 will work fine with revA, it just won't really do anything more with it. |

i thought the chipset in the 6700 the msm6500 by qualcomm lists under the specs that it is rev.a compatible...
anyone know anything about rev b.? |

RevA was just adopted by sprint and lit not long ago (it's not available everywhere just yet either).
I can also confirm the 6700 is NOT RevA. The 6800 supposedly will be having an evdo RevA radio module in it. Also revB supposedly isn't going to be adopted by sprint as currently they seem to be headed towards wimax being the next thing after revA. They are adopting/rolling out revA rapidly and trying to cover everywhere possible for their Qchat (data stream based walkie-talkie service) which is due to be out for 2007/2008 (officially i think they made mention of late 2007). |

actually, sprint is now using the GPS built in to most headsets for this...
https://sfl.sprintpcs.com/finder-spr...y/moreInfo.htm pretty cool if you ask me ![]() |

^ many have tried to unlock that gps feature and still work in progress...the 6700, however, cannot be used as a parent phone on the locater service...I kept pestering utstarcomm for info on how to use gps or a-gps on the 6700 until they sent me a final email saying it's proprietary information they cannot currently release..lol

Someone explained why to me, but I forgot all the details. Something to do with no access to some kind of GPS server, which has to be provided by a third party in order for it to work. |
