The GPS in the PPC6700 is radio tower triangulation ONLY. You cannot use the GPS on the PPC6700 for anything. e911 can use it, and if you subscribe to the Family Locator service that can use it, but out of the box you cannot. You need a bluetooth GPS device and a program (like Virtual Earth Mobile) in order for it to work.
Someone explained why to me, but I forgot all the details. Something to do with no access to some kind of GPS server, which has to be provided by a third party in order for it to work.
