I have asurion insurance for about 5 years ... actually since Verizon bought out Cellular One here in Albany. Today I replaced my 5th Insurance referb 6700 and when the tech person tried to call the the replacement headset that I had problems with ... that I activated yesterday evening when I got home from work, I call Verizon not Asurion and talked with them, the Verizon tech discussed the information with the Asurion rep and thats when they attempted to "probe for problems" some of you call trouble shooting. Well ... in the middle of it session, my Radio died ... and she could not call the phone ... and I could not call her ... She said since this is your 5th insurance replacement of the same phone, we will just send you the next model.

I tried calling Asurion today but the lady was firm and was not gonna give me the 6800. The two options she gave me were
1. To take it to the verizon store seeing I'm still under the manufacturers warranty
2. Pay $50 and get, "maybe" a new 6700
I told her I would take my chances with the store b/c I can get a replacement for free. :P

VZW has 6700 replacements, Asurion "notes" your account very time you place a claim, hate to see you get droppped just trying for a 6800. . .

if i place a claim b/c of a defective product that i am paying insurance on...they can drop me? well i spoke to verizon, they said there is absolutely no problem, in fact, since i am a "great" customer, so she said, exchange for a 6800 no questions asked. And she did say after 3 claims they usually let the person choose a new phone.
