I use the Arkon Vent Mount that came with my GPS purchase at buygpsnow.com. It works very well.
http://images.google.com/images?q=arkon+vent+moun I keep my cords out of the way by snaking a black twist-tie through the furthest left of my vents, then folding it over and making it into a little hook. The cords hang over there so that they dangle to the left of my climate/stereo, out of the way. My setup...
I run the mount that does not allow for KB slide out but I really don't need it to make a call or navigate with gps (TOMTOM) and bluetooth GPS reciever. It has build in speaker and has a external MIC hooked up so it works well for calls too and I can hear turn by turn directions also with the radio still on.
Oh forgot to mention I can see the screen well enough to see who is calling or the GPS. On to some picstures:

Tinting my windows worked nicely to reduce the glare as well as conceal all the electronics and customizations in my vehicle...which include:
Customized Laptop holder (fits inside center console) Laptop hooked up to Vehicle's Onboard Diagnostics (OBDII/CANS compliant software) Arkon Vent Mount for 6700. Cassette adapter attached to 3.5mm Stereo Headphone Adapter with Built-In Mic & Answer Button (to talk on phone via car stereo) IBlue757 Solar GPS Logitech 360 WebCam (multiple Velcro attachment points) TomTomNavigator, MicrosoftStreets&Trips...etc Rudeo Remote Control coupled with tape adapter to laptop allows remote control of cars stereo.
