The 6700 is unreadable in a car mount in moderate to bright sunlight unless shaded. I made a shade out of stiff file folder cardboard for mine. The cardboard has four surfaces (top, right, left, and back and just slides behind the 6700 when I need to use it. There is a small hole cutout for the antenna. It looks like hell, but it works. If you want a better one, try looking for a small carrying cas for a portable LCD TV. Radio Shack has one that would work except you would need to figure out how to attach it to the car mount.

My car mount is actually a GPS mount that comes off the windshield and has around a 12" arm that extends and retracts. I have no issues with the sunlight being a nuisance at all. I use it primarily to see who is calling me or to see when an email is coming in. I also use it occasionally for GPS navigation as well and so far, no complaints with my set up. I wish I remember who made the one I have as it works perfectly, especially if you have an extended battery setup.

nice
I bet that does work. Nice selling point to my customers for our mounts in store! Thanks!

I use the Arkon Vent Mount that came with my GPS purchase at buygpsnow.com. It works very well.
http://images.google.com/images?q=arkon+vent+moun I keep my cords out of the way by snaking a black twist-tie through the furthest left of my vents, then folding it over and making it into a little hook. The cords hang over there so that they dangle to the left of my climate/stereo, out of the way. Oh, I also use this 2.5mm->3.5mm converter with MIC, plugged into a tape adapter, so that I can listen/talk thru my car stereo's speakers (also works for speakerphone and voice command): http://www.pocketpctechs.com/main.as...tem=PPCPADPT20 If you buy that adapter above, you might as well add this awesome stylus to your cart too (doubles as a ballpoint pen -- very handy!) http://www.pocketpctechs.com/main~un...2DSTYLUS01.htm |

I run the mount that does not allow for KB slide out but I really don't need it to make a call or navigate with gps (TOMTOM) and bluetooth GPS reciever. It has build in speaker and has a external MIC hooked up so it works well for calls too and I can hear turn by turn directions also with the radio still on.
Oh forgot to mention I can see the screen well enough to see who is calling or the GPS. On to some picstures: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

where to get one.
Verizon has them in their retail stores.
I used mine the entire drive to FL and then to MI without incident. |
