Anyone ever get ".qcp" sound files to play in mms?

evans 10-10-2007 12:24 PM

ActiveSync issues ...

I was able to Sync my devel4 release to my work computer and my home machine yesterday.

Today, I connect up and ActiveSync just spins for a while "Looking For Changes" and eventually comes up with a generic message about not being able to sync.

Has anyone else seen this?

Thanks,

...tom

Can you include these Windows Media Player codes for TCPMP to play WMV files. I noticed that WMP had degraded video play back on WM6.

Thanks.

You most likely held down the power button too long. If your blacklight goes out like that, just press and hold the power button on top.

In a nutshell, I go into bootloader (1.02) and see USB on the device once I plug in the cable as expected. Next, I run the devel4.exe. The file decompresses to the appropriate directory and then executes. In the 2nd (I believe) informational screen it shows that I will upgrading from blank to blank. Hmmmm.... I'm feeling anyhow lucky so I click on next to continue. It tells me that it is making sure I am not upgrading my microwave (nice touch). After that, it tells me Yay! that wasn't so bad etc... Funny thing is, I never see a countdown loading bar up to that point and the end result has always been no load!! The old dev2 is still on my phone and functioning well with my calendar and numbers intact. I have rebooted the PC and hard reset the phone in several combinations a few times during this process to try to help, but, ultimately... no love. I have re-read other posts and been careful to follow directions to a "T". I won't say that I'm new to the load process, but, I may have overlooked something this time...?:???:

Thanks for any help/insight.

That typically happens with the files get corrupted during the download. Delete your current devel4, download it again and give it another shot. If that is still not successful, rename os.rom to nk.nbf and use a different flasher on the site.

1) check running processes on your phone to make sure activesync is starting.
2) search for info on how to repair problems with outlook. this fixed a similar problem for me once. there is a utility built into outlook.

Maybe put them all inside one zip or one folder for the items removed..
BTW Thx for the work done by all that contributed...

Both are free from Handingo.

Just go to Settings-Backlight. You'll immediately notice the slider for the backlight while on battery has moved all the way to the left. If you slide it to the right, the backlight comes back on. I've had the same problem since I got the phone, even with the original WM5 ROM.

Yeah.. I noticed that no matter how I configure the power options (where you can set timeout period before screen dimming, or standby mode), that the phone only turns off the screen. I always have to make sure to tap power so I'm not bleeding battery power.

But I'm also having problems with incoming phone calls as well. I either can't answer them, or the phone locks up.

In addition, I'm having a problem where my screen blanks out every now and then, the only way to fix it is to reset with the keyboard pulled out.

Also, it appears that the hard buttons on my phone are randomly unresponsive.

Any suggestions?

I'm using development 4 now and it's even more stable then last time. Thanks so much.

However, I've discovered a couple things related to the above:

1. If the screen blanks out you have to slide out the keyboard, turn the display off, then turn it back on (this will fix it 9 out of 10 times)

2. If I have problems with the hard keys not responding (I.E. I may have to hit the hard key 4, 5 times before it may or may not respond), I pull the keyboard out and it works perfectly (fast response time, etc.)

Any ideas?

what other today plugins and stuff are you running? this could be your problem. I uninstalled all that kind of SW and turned off all the auto email checks on HTC rom2.2 and this same problem you're having went away. I would go to answer the call and they would have already hung up after a bunch of rings....

Have you installed anything? Or is it just a fresh devel4 install?

upgrade to radio 1.41 or wait until it is included in my install package.

type ##778 go to the modems section and edit the slot cycle. try dropping it to 1 then save and let it reboot.
Note: Don't go mucking around in that menu or you will break it.

I have radio 1.41 but am experiencing the same issue.

I typed in ##778 then selected "edit", however after this it asks for an "unlock code" ..... I assume it is after this screen. I have tried 0000 and the last 4 digits of my phone number...neither worked. any other tips?

I think the p/w is 000000

spyrl 10-11-2007 01:22 AM

Verizonguy, thanks for the re-download advice it worked fine! (Duh!!)
Now on to my experience with devel4. I now have a clean devel4. 2 things I noticed right away FYI: BTW I submit these after looking through the forums for and trying any suggest fixes... No Luck.

-I can't install the removed WM5torage 1.75 or 1.78b2 even after soft reboots etc. They come back with "...install unsuccessful"
-My btooth headset doesn't pair on this dev rom but it did on your other devs that I tried and Helmi's too. In fact it is not recognized at all, but, my holux240 is discovered and pairs fine as well as my cube neighbor's (cellmate if you will) sanyo phone... Weird????

Other than these issues, so far so good and it does seem a bit more responsive than in the past

Thanks again for all your hard work.

Yep that was it - I went in, checked it out and found my slot cycle already was at 1. My guess is that the amount of extra time its taking is accessing the SD card for the mp3 ring tone. I would bet dollars to donuts that the other guy with this problem has mp3s on a card that the ringer is accessing.

Anyone else having a problem with call waiting using devel 3? If I'm on a call and incoming call goes right to my voice mail. Any ideas?

I need the verizon wireless sync software on the 6700, which VZW CAB is that in?

You can download it directly from the VZW Sync site where you configured your profile.

Nevermind - I was able to find the source and realized I already had a copy of the CAB save on my SD card! Phew... now I can reload all my contacts, calendar, etc.

Dev4 install went w/no problems. Will update with any feedback as I find anything. I wasn't really having any serious issues with Helmi's original WM6 ROM (was a littler slower than WM5 and less battery life), so I'm guessing this one will work even better with a few things fixed now! Thx!!!

Hey, does anyone have a list of all of these ## codes?
And do they get reset if I install a new ROM (figuring that's my nuclear option to reset my phone after playing around with these settings)??

There may still be remnants of it in the current rom. Housecleaning is coming in the next couple devels. I'm expecting a couple of weeks for next version as I've fixed the critical things and am now focusing on other things on the listâ„¢.

That doesn't make sense unless there is a problem with the headset as I haven't changed bluetooth at all yet. I haven't had any problems using my moto bluetooth headset or my tomtom gps unit.

Thanks. Am I right in assuming I can undo any changes with a fresh ROM install as my nuclear option to undo anything stupid I change?

I have 3 xv6700s used for rom testing all running devel4 right now and haven't experienced either of those problems on any of the 3 apaches.

Try this to isolate things:
Flash devel4 to your phone again and then hard reset. Run it for 2 days without installing anything or putting anything on it other than contacts.

After 2 days, if you have no problems, install 1 application or item to your phone, give it a day, and if still no problems rinse and repeat (add another item) until you start seeing those symptoms again. This should give us an idea of what is causing the problems.

Just upgraded from Devel2 to Devel4 .. seems a tad bit laggy? I've had the stock install freeze up when clicking the down arrow on the HTC Task Manager. It freezes, then 30 seconds or more, it catches up. I noticed that when you go into Options, both of the "close when I hit x" buttons are checked. I thought maybe that caused it but the phone froze again later after I installed some stuff.

Anyone else noticing this? It also seems like it takes a split second to react to the button presses sometimes.

If the task manager isn't playing nicely with the apps it's hooking, disable it.

That's a great solution.
[patient] - "Hey doc, it hurts when I move my arm like this."
[Doc] - "So don't move your arm like that."

Just to chime in: I find Dev4 most certainly sluggish, slow to respond to button-presses, and freezes up on me alot. (And the only software I have installed on it is RSA SecurID Soft-Token).

When I get a chance, I plan on ditching HTC HOME, which I think is the culprit, and loading back in SPB Mobile.
Anyone know a graceful way to stop HTC Home from loading? (If I remove it from the TODAY screen, is that like removing a program from STARTUP on a PC, it won't load at all? Or is part of it still in the background somehow?)
