I gotta say, this forum (especially Helmi, Verizonguy) has helped me arrive at a pretty butt kicking phone. I found a hack elsewhere for either more phone volume or more bandwidth, or both. My phone sounded pretty tinny before. Maybe those more experienced than me can add any cautions, or tips, but it is working great for me.

["Here's the hack, obtained [from Gornn] and other forum threads. Use at your own risk, this modifies a system area, and could cause unknown side effects. If I run into anything wierd I'm going to set it back the way it was. Basically I think this forces the phone to use more bandwidth on calls, something Verizon doesn't likely encourage. But my earpiece is definitely louder, a few times it was a little too loud.

First dial ##778
Tap on "Edit"
Enter Unlock Code 000000
Tap on arrow to upper left hand of screen to reveal drop down menu where it says "Display"
Select "CDMA Settings"
Click and hold on the "EVRC Enabled" line under the Settings column
Select "Edit"
Switch to "Disabled"
Then press "ok"
Click and hold on the "Home Page" line under the Settings column
Select "Edit"
Switch to "Voice 13k"
[Then Press OK]
Repeat for "Home Orig" and "Roam Orig"]

Memory Leak

Anyone experiencing a memory leak on the phone?

If I reboot at about 8am, I usually have to reboot in the best case scenario by 8pm, usually at least once a day, often 2 to 3 times daily.

Symptoms the phone is going to need a reset soon:

1) The phone starts to slow down.
2) When I'm in an app and I click on the start menu, the start menu is green, not the usual blue.
3) When I close an open app, the today screen is white (some of the text is still visible).

Throughout the day, I only use text messaging and OTA ActiveSync, an occasionally the phone. If I had to guess, I'd say that there's an issue in either the Messaging app or in ActiveSync.

Anyone seeing anything like this or know how I can stop or reduce the leak? Or possibly figure out which app is causing the leak?

It isn't a memory leak, but you're right about activesync. I haven't started looking at it yet, but when activesync is running forget about trying to do anything else. I'm sure we'll be able to fix it.

the radio will be packaged into the installer. the ce rom is the same stuff we already had with the BM release. I'll look through the ER to see what they tweaked in it.

devel5 is still a ways off as devel4 is stable for the most part and I'm working on a top secret project you dirty bastids will be happy about.

lol you are sucha tease. I hope the basement is giving you fits

I finally got the green boot screen of death. I did a soft reset after having used the htc home plugin to use the flight mode and program launcher. soft reset after that stuff and green screen of hell ensued.

Have you tried installing the 1.43 radio seperately to devel4 release? might be easier to just do that in meantime....

I've been lacking following the threads.... but does it seem that the boot-screen from hell (green-screen of death) seem to always be related to the HTC HOME plug-in? Is this always part of WM6? I like it, but would like to see the HTC not included in the ROM. Maybe it doesn't like being run from the ROM. Not to mention, I'd like the ability to completely remove the fragg'n thing.

If you followed the threads you could whine a lot less

Just un-check it in your today items and it is effectively gone. You will likely not have an issue after that, based on what others report. Alternatively, you can search for more specifics in this and other threads relating to it and its interaction with WM6.

FYI I flashed my 6700 with the full official AKU33 package, including the 1.43 ROM. I then re-flashed back to Devel4. Early testing is ok at this time. Not sure what the difference between 1.41 and 1.43 but no issues.
