It seems that Bluetooth turns it self off or timeouts on the WM6 roms. On my WM5 rom, the bluetooth never turns off, thus my headset always works. I have to use the Comm Manager to turn the bluetooth connection on and off multiple times a day and sometime I just have to softreset.

Any idea?
Having same issue, with same headset.
Weirder still, it shows the BT icon during my call, so the phone thinks BT is on, but is still using the phone/s handset.

Cool Blue Teeeth problems!

I've been having the same KIND of problem with my BT set-up. I am not using a BT headset but rather a BT hands-free car mount (COMFORT BT Universal Car Mount V20) that SHOULD (and usually does) connect via BT to a hands-free mike and speaker ...works great and you don't have to wear a headset....

Anyway, my xv6700 connects (via BT) about 60% of the time when I start my car. When it fails, I simply turn OFF the BT on the 6700 and then turn it back ON and "presto"! The biggest problem I've been having is that the BT DISCONNECTS after a while (for no apparent reason). Most of my driving is a little over 1/2 hour in nature and most of the time it has disconnected by trip-end. I know it's not because of reception range since the 6700 is IN the cradle (as close as you can get to the BT). I never had this problem with WM5.

....BUT, I am finding that the MS Voice Command works 95% better (with WM6) in recognizing commands, especially on the VC contact verification sequence. With WM5 I had to ALWAYS repeat "YES" (or NO) several times when Voice Command was trying to verify my command ....to the point of turning blue and getting VERY "POed". ...a real sight to see for the outside world looking in at me! Thank you VerizonGuy and Helmi for getting my blood pressure under control!!!

BTW, I sync through my exchange server wirelessly and live my life on PI ...2,100 contacts with LOTS of details and very thick on appointment usage.

Any suggestions? Questions?

I like WM6, but I just can't recommend this to anyone. Since installing I have been unable to receive calls while a data connection is connected and my phone beeps even when on silent when it is searching for service which is SUUUUPPPEERRR annoying when I am at work or class. Just ridiculous.

Well, after previously uninstalling BlueFrog Big Button Dialer, I found that my phone ring time did not improve, so I reinstalled it. Now the phone rings by the end of the 2nd external ring, no matter what. Great response, time, I am happy, but I wanted to be able to tell you guys what made it better, and I have no idea!! At least we know it is possible to get it down to 1 or 2 rings.

I gotta say, this forum (especially Helmi, Verizonguy) has helped me arrive at a pretty butt kicking phone. I found a hack elsewhere for either more phone volume or more bandwidth, or both. My phone sounded pretty tinny before. Maybe those more experienced than me can add any cautions, or tips, but it is working great for me.

["Here's the hack, obtained [from Gornn] and other forum threads. Use at your own risk, this modifies a system area, and could cause unknown side effects. If I run into anything wierd I'm going to set it back the way it was. Basically I think this forces the phone to use more bandwidth on calls, something Verizon doesn't likely encourage. But my earpiece is definitely louder, a few times it was a little too loud.

First dial ##778
Tap on "Edit"
Enter Unlock Code 000000
Tap on arrow to upper left hand of screen to reveal drop down menu where it says "Display"
Select "CDMA Settings"
Click and hold on the "EVRC Enabled" line under the Settings column
Select "Edit"
Switch to "Disabled"
Then press "ok"
Click and hold on the "Home Page" line under the Settings column
Select "Edit"
Switch to "Voice 13k"
[Then Press OK]
Repeat for "Home Orig" and "Roam Orig"]

Any idea yet if any of the new official VZW 3.3 ROM stuff will make it into next release? Particularly radio 1.43 upgrade?

thanks!

Memory Leak

Anyone experiencing a memory leak on the phone?

If I reboot at about 8am, I usually have to reboot in the best case scenario by 8pm, usually at least once a day, often 2 to 3 times daily.

Symptoms the phone is going to need a reset soon:

1) The phone starts to slow down.
2) When I'm in an app and I click on the start menu, the start menu is green, not the usual blue.
3) When I close an open app, the today screen is white (some of the text is still visible).

Throughout the day, I only use text messaging and OTA ActiveSync, an occasionally the phone. If I had to guess, I'd say that there's an issue in either the Messaging app or in ActiveSync.

Anyone seeing anything like this or know how I can stop or reduce the leak? Or possibly figure out which app is causing the leak?

It isn't a memory leak, but you're right about activesync. I haven't started looking at it yet, but when activesync is running forget about trying to do anything else. I'm sure we'll be able to fix it.
