Look under the Communication Manager. What carrier do you have? I have VZW and use wireless sync, which does the email push for any email account you set up, and I use activesync for my work exchange email.

Direct push isn't listed outright. But is the technology used when you sync with an Exchange server in active sync. When not receiving email, the phone connectivity is supposed to go into standby mode. With 6.1 (for me at least), the connection stays on constantly, thus draining my battery. The workaround (that I'm not happy with) is to completely turn off syncing with my Exchange server (since even when I do a manual sync, the connection never times out elegantly).

Re: Apache WM6.1 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.19716 (Build 19716.1.0.0) - UPDATED 20080308
Ok, hopefully someone can help me. I have the 2.05 bootloader, so I had to do an extremely barebones 6.1 kitchen install. Now it worked and I can make calls, etc, but I don't believe there is any software to send/receive texts, etc.
Also, I seem to be missing all the Verizon phone settings, or maybe they aren't in this device??? I want to use Backup Assistant to download my contact information, but I can't find any place in my XV6700 that would have it. Can someone help a n00b figure out how to send/receive IMs and get this phone working properly? Thanks! Also, when I attempt to watch a video, say at mobile youtube, it attempts to open Windows Media player and gives an error that it doesn't open this type of file. How do I fix this? I managed to figure out the texts and I am assuming I will have to enter all my contacts in again, but how do you view You Tube videos without Windows Media Player opening and giving an error?
