Re: Apache WM6.1 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.19716 (Build 19716.1.0.0) - UPDATED 20080308

Don't know that this is a major blimp, or if I did something wrong, but yesterday after I opened BuildOS and said yes to updating, I got an error message (don't remember it now but only 25% downloaded). After telling me the update failed, it restored the previous build, and I went ahead and downloaded the updated .rar with the wifi fix myself and put it in the Kitchens folder. Since then, the updater doesn't open when I open BuildOS. Should it?

On this most recent flash, everything looked good and I've reinstalled everything working perfectly. And now I realize that the original malady is back.

Is there any way to get rid of this phonepad? I've tried to install a few different ones using some older CABs- they look like they work, but whenever I tap Hide Keypad, I see the original pad (this seems to happen only with TouchDual pad). And I still can't change settings or hear anything.
Please.

Might it be possible to backup, reflash and restore everything EXCEPT the phonepad/data?

Have you tried any of the other dialers? That may help narrow down the problem. The touch dual dialer was pulled from a GSM phone and is still "experimental".

In the Projects folder, check your selections.txt. You should see the paths to the different folders. Make sure they are correct. They should look like this:

Code:
KitchenDir=Kitchens\Apache_Helmi_WM6.1.rar:
OptionalModuleDir=kitchens\000_Shareware.rar:
ModuleDir=kitchens\PPCGeeks_OEM.rar:
or do the full paths like this:

Code:
ModuleDir=C:\Program Files\PPCkitchen.org\BuildOS\Kitchens

No. When you start BuildOS, it only checks for updates you have not seen before - regardless of whether you downloaded prior content or not. If you start Updater manually, it will tell you about updates you have not downloaded yet.

Updater is not smart enough to detect an externally downloaded update, so the download you did manually still be in the update list.

Aside from the wrong folder, you should have downloaded the WM6.1 selections.txt file available in the downloads section as well. Place it in the Projects folder. When starting BuildOS, it will prompt you for a project, and it is that file which you should select.

Hey colonel,
I'm having the same issue. Here are the two setup's that I tried.

TouchDual Dialer + custom mp3 ringtones (\Windows\Rings)
iBliss Dialer + custom mp3 ringtones (\Windows\Rings)

both of these were copied in after I finished flashing. I suppose I could dump some of my own in "Additional Ringtones" directory. At any rate, let me know what you guys think would be a good next step.

The updater is not working when I tried it manually; specifically when it goes to update the BuildOS application files. It downloads but then has a problem installing; the detailed message is that it can't copy file PPC-BuildOS.exe.

Make sure BuildOS is closed when you run the updater.

I just re-flashed using the BlueFrog dialer and everything seems to be working correctly. I'll edit this post again after I've re-installed everything I have and use it for the day. Thanks for the help colonel.
